Vision & Strategy

  • Execute the product vision and strategy in alignment with The Baldwin Group's mission and Long-Term Plan (LTP).

  • Implement Data-Driven Decision Making to inform product decisions, track performance metrics, and optimize product offerings.

  • Understand the external client and employer landscape, segment differences across CRMG/EBG/PRM, and the dual-variant scope to create a product that delivers real value.

  • Directly interface with end-users (colleagues and clients) (to gather insights and feedback that inform the roadmap. Coach the Product Owner / Front-End Developer and UX Designer on the merged team to deeply understand external user pain points across product variants.

  • Own product variants, managing competing roadmap priorities within a compressed 2–3 person team, with strong prioritization discipline.

Discovery & Experimentation

  • Validate new ideas through experimentation, A/B testing, and structured user feedback programs — interviews with clients, employers, and employees across business segments.

  • Optimize User Experience by incorporating feedback into product iterations to ensure products are intuitive, accessible (WCAG-compliant), secure, and capable of handling variant-specific UX needs across portal types.

  • Gather qualitative insights through surveys, interviews, and usability testing, alongside quantitative data from experiments.

  • Use tools to track user interactions, measure performance metrics, and analyze the results — including NPS survey tooling, portal engagement analytics via the Data Platform, and Epic/Stratus-sourced client activation data.

  • Conduct pilot programs to roll out features to small groups of users prior to full launch to gain insights.

  • Ensure the roadmap is adaptable, focusing on delivering business outcomes —and responding to client and colleague feedback.

  • Foster Innovation and Adaptation, driving a culture of continuous improvement within the product team to stay ahead of market changes and technological advancements.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead Technical Collaboration between engineering, design, marketing, sales, and executive teams to drive product success from concept to launch.

  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility during the product discovery and delivery process

  • Foster an environment of open communication to align team efforts with business and customer priorities.

Communication

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and changes to the product strategy.

  • Manage expectations and keep everyone informed about the CEP platform's vision and status.

  • Clearly define product or feature needs in Jira cards to ensure optimal results.

Metrics & Outcomes

  • Own and drive the CEP program KPIs

  • Use customer feedback and analytics to iterate and improve the product, ensuring it meets business goals and user needs.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of proven experience in digital product management, with at least 3 years building external-facing client or consumer digital products (portals, self-service platforms, mobile apps) in financial services, insurance, benefits administration, wealth management, or a comparable regulated advisory services context.

  • Insatiably curious, always asking why; and peeling back the onion layers to get to the real answers.

  • Strong bias for action and a proven ability to drive progress.

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product development processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate product vision and strategy for an external digital product where the user has no internal obligation to adopt.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, design, and platform/infrastructure teams.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, negotiate, and deliver feedback.

  • Ability to analyze data, external user feedback, portal engagement metrics, and segment-level performance data to inform product decisions.

  • Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic teams with a small, high-leverage team structure (2–3 FTEs) where AI tooling (vibe-coding, Claude Code) materially expands individual throughput.

  • Demonstrated AI fluency — specifically, experience designing or evaluating AI-assisted product features where outputs are client-visible (generated communications, automated status updates, empathy-aware messaging). Ability to define appropriate human-in-the-loop guardrails and communicate AI behavior to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with portal or digital experience platforms in a multi-segment or multi-variant context (e.g., separate client-facing and employer-facing products managed under one product lead).

  • Experience with project management tools like Jira.

  • Data-driven decision-making skills, with proficiency in analytics tools relevant to the environment.
