Gritter Francona is looking for a Senior Programmer to support the development, enhancement, testing, and maintenance of web-based and client-server applications within a federal environment. The position will work closely with project managers, business leads, and end users to define requirements, develop solutions, resolve system issues, and implement technology enhancements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, modify, test, and implement web-based applications, client-server applications, and operating system scripts.
- Develop applications using Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software into existing systems and architectures.
- Analyze system requirements and design new or enhanced application functionality.
- Work with users and stakeholders to define requirements and develop program specifications.
- Plan, document, code, test, and implement computer programs in accordance with established Systems Development Methodologies.
- Develop test conditions and test data, analyze test results, and coordinate system and user acceptance testing.
- Analyze and resolve application and production problems.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and programming solutions.
- Support multiple concurrent project requests and application enhancements.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of data and process models.
- Develop and maintain technical and program documentation.
- Support work planning, project organization, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
- Provide project status information related to schedule, cost, performance, risks, and technical issues.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, workstream sponsors, business leads, technical teams, and end users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8 years of professional programming and application development experience.
- Strong experience with SQL and relational database environments.
- Experience developing and modifying web-based and client-server applications.
- Experience with application testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Experience with Systems Development Methodologies and software development lifecycle processes.
- Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business users.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a complex federal environment.
