Job Overview:

The Project Controls Analyst is responsible for supporting project planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, progress measurement, performance analysis, and reporting activities throughout the project lifecycle. This role provides timely and accurate project performance data, develops management reports and dashboards, and assists project teams in identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to support informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and distribute weekly and monthly project performance reports.
  • Create and maintain management dashboards and KPIs for project leadership.
  • Analyze project cost, schedule, productivity, and progress performance data.
  • Prepare executive-level reporting packages highlighting trends, issues, risks, and opportunities.
  • Consolidate project information from multiple sources into concise, meaningful reports.
  • Support preparation of project reviews, stage-gate reviews, and client reporting requirements.

    Data Management & Reporting Systems

  • Maintain project controls databases and reporting tools.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of project performance data.
  • Support (Development is a plus, but not mandatory) and improve automated reporting solutions using Power BI, Excel, SharePoint, or similar tools.
  • Generate ad hoc reports and analyses to support project and management requests.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of reporting processes and standards.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, Project Management, or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Experience

  • 3-7 years of project controls, project management, scheduling, cost control, or reporting experience.
  • Experience supporting EPC, industrial, energy, infrastructure, or construction projects preferred.
  • Experience creating management reports and performance dashboards.

    Technical Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with earned value management principles.
  • Experience with project controls systems and ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, EcoSys, Prism, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong data analysis and visualization capabilities.

  • Ability to translate complex project data into actionable insights.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
