Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager based in Canada to lead critical IT initiatives supporting our enterprise-wide AI transformation program, including the development and delivery of AI-driven agents.

This is a senior, high-impact role responsible for ensuring execution excellence, governance discipline, and financial visibility across a complex, cross-functional portfolio of technology projects. The Senior Project Manager will partner closely with IT, product, finance, and business stakeholders, while directly managing and coaching a globally distributed project management resource to ensure alignment, transparency, and on-time delivery.

This individual will play a pivotal role in scaling our AI capabilities, strengthening program rigor, driving disciplined financial tracking, and establishing best practices in project governance, risk management, stakeholder communication, and delivery accountability.

As a newly created role, this position offers the opportunity to shape the foundation for an organization that has already begun adopting AI and is now moving toward a more structured, scalable, and governed approach to implementation.

Base salary range for this role is CAD $150,000 – $200,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors. This position is 100% remote (must be based in Canada).

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent projects and workstreams aligned to the AI transformation roadmap
  • Drive execution and coordination across a portfolio of initiatives, ensuring all agent development tracks remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned to business priorities
  • Partner with IT, data, product, finance, and business leaders to define scope, timelines, dependencies, success metrics, and budget tracking requirements
  • Collaborate closely with globally distributed teams to ensure seamless coordination and continuous progress
  • Directly manage, coach, and provide day-to-day guidance to an India-based project management team member, supporting prioritization, execution, professional development, and accountability across project workstreams
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive project plans, including milestones, deliverables, risks, and resource allocation
  • Provide clear, concise reporting to senior leadership, highlighting progress, blockers, and required decisions
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, steering committees, and working sessions, ensuring action tracking and accountability
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges
  • Drive consistency in project management standards, tools, and governance across the AI initiative
  • Build foundational processes, reporting routines, and operating practices for a first-time AI transformation program management function as the organization matures its AI adoption
  • Support change management efforts and ensure alignment between technical delivery and business adoption
  • Own project financial tracking, including maintaining accurate expense files, budget trackers, forecasts, and financial status updates for project stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Monitor project spend against approved budgets, identify variances, escalate risks, and support timely decision-making around resourcing, scope, and investment priorities

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience leading AI, data, or advanced analytics-related projects
  • 8+ years of project management experience, including leading complex IT, digital transformation, or enterprise technology initiatives
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional, globally distributed teams
  • Experience directly managing or supervising team members, preferably in a globally distributed team environment
  • Strong track record delivering enterprise technology projects on time and within scope
  • Excellent executive communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and provide clear decision support to senior leaders
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar)
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Strong financial organization skills, including experience managing spreadsheets, tracking project spend, maintaining forecasts, and ensuring accurate project-related financial documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery methodologies
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams
  • Background in consulting, advisory, or client-driven environments
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar certification

Work Environment & Compensation

  • Location: Remote – Canada
  • Canada Salary Range: CAD $150,000 – $200,000. Competitive, market-aligned compensation commensurate with experience
  • Travel: Minimal, based on project needs
