Job Description

AECOM’s Data Center Practice is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a strong understanding of project finance and the business acumen to monitor and control the design execution of internal project teams and subconsultant project teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing $5M - $8M net service revenue annually, have a strong background delivering projects for hyperscale clients with a fast paced schedule, as well as developing work plans with discipline leads to stay on plan.

This position offers the flexibility of a remote work schedule and can be based from a variety of locations in the US where AECOM has an office.

Although the position is primarily remote periodic travel may be required for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, or other business‑critical activities. Travel is expected to be occasional and scheduled in advance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own Prime Contract, Subcontract, and/or AECOM global inter-company agreement Management
  • Manages task orders or single project agreements across multiple concurrent data center design projects.
  • Responsible for delivering revenues targeted.
  • Delivers consistently on planned profit margins.
  • Monitor project performance including scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, safety, and risk.
  • Utilize earned value management to assess work progress against the baseline.
  • Identify and resolve project and program-level constraints impacting delivery.
  • Ensure consistency of execution across multiple projects and clients.
  • Support Design Managers and Strategy Site Managers in maintaining successful delivery.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and page turn reviews with the assigned Design Manager as co-lead.
  • Lead change management process for internal and external changes.
  • Assist in managing client expectations and overall client experience.
  • Exchange information on sensitive matters and work to build consensus across teams and departments.
  • Travel as needed for project-related activities such as client meetings and site visits.
  • Obtain AECOM Project Manager certification within 1 year of start date.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Minimum 5+ years managing complex programs or major projects
  • Candidate must have current U.S. citizenship for potential future government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting or leading proposal efforts. 
  • Strong understanding of Architecture/ Engineering/ Civil (A/E/C) project delivery process
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities
  • Direct experience supporting financial reporting
  • 8+ years of experience in the A/E/C industry
  • Experience working with hyperscale clients
  • Experience working with federal clients
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders
  • PMP certification preferred.
