Lead and manage multiple concurrent data and BI projects in pharma, coordinate cross-functional teams, drive Agile delivery, manage risks, stakeholders, and project plans, and continuously improve PM processes.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with 5+ years of experience in managing data-related projects and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions in the pharmaceutical industry. This role will oversee multiple simultaneous projects and support requests for our onshore Chicago office, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with business objectives.
Responsibilities:- Lead and manage multiple concurrent data and BI projects, ensuring successful execution within scope and timeline from initiation to closure
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and support requests, prioritizing work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives, commercial data needs, and project priorities
- Manage cross-functional teams, including software developers, data engineers, BI developers, and analysts, ensuring efficient collaboration and high-quality deliverables
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, roadmaps, and status reports to track progress and identify risks early
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Facilitate regular project meetings, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and accountability across all stakeholders
- Drive Agile methodologies to enhance workflows and delivery processes
- Communicate project status, key milestones, and potential risks to stakeholders in a clear and structured manner
- Continuously improve project management best practices, leveraging lessons learned and process optimizations
- 5+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager
- Strong technical background
- Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience handling project support requests and managing client expectations
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide diverse teams
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to risk and issue management
- Experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to navigate and influence across different levels of an organization
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Trello, or Asana
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-changing and dynamic business environment
- Certification in Agile or Project Management (e.g., PMP)
- Experience working with onshore/offshore teams
- Knowledge of advanced analytics, AI/ML in pharma, or related fields
