About Positron AI

Positron AI is building next-generation AI inference accelerators designed from the ground up for low-latency, high-throughput large language model inference. Our first-generation ASIC, Asimov, is a cutting-edge accelerator targeting frontier AI workloads, with additional generations already underway.

Role Overview

Positron AI is looking for a Senior Recruiter to help build, optimize and scale our software hiring engine. In this role, you will own full-cycle recruiting for software and systems software positions across the company, spanning firmware, drivers, compilers, runtime, and ML infrastructure teams. You will partner closely with engineering leaders to translate technical hiring needs into effective sourcing strategies, build strong candidate pipelines in a competitive market, and help shape a hiring process that reflects Positron's technical bar and fast-moving culture.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Recruiting

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for software engineering roles, from intake through offer and close, across firmware, compiler, runtime, and ML infrastructure teams.
  • Manage a healthy requisition load in parallel, keeping candidates, hiring managers, and interview panels moving through the process efficiently.

Sourcing & Pipeline Development

  • Proactively source and engage passive software talent through direct outreach, referrals, professional networks, and targeted outreach campaigns, rather than relying solely on inbound applicants.
  • Tap into academic networks, conferences, and industry communities to build pipelines for specialized ML, systems software, and AI infrastructure talent.
  • Build and maintain a strong, diverse pipeline of candidates for current and anticipated software hiring needs across the organization.

Partnering with Hiring Managers

  • Act as a trusted advisor to engineering leaders, helping define role scope, leveling, and hiring plans for software positions.
  • Calibrate interview panels and scorecards with hiring managers to ensure a consistent, high signal-to-noise evaluation process.

Candidate Experience & Process

  • Design and run interview loops that give candidates a clear, timely, and positive experience from first contact through offer.
  • Lead offer strategy and negotiation, working closely with hiring managers and leadership to close top candidates.

Employer Branding & Market Intelligence

  • Stay current on compensation, leveling, and hiring trends across AI infrastructure and semiconductor companies to keep Positron competitive.
  • Own the drafting and refinement of software job descriptions and other candidate-facing materials, keeping messaging clear, consistent, and true to Positron's voice.
  • Track attrition, retention, and diversity trends within software hiring to inform sourcing strategy and process improvements over time.
  • Contribute to employer branding efforts that raise Positron's visibility with software engineers in the AI infrastructure space.
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, with a strong focus on software, firmware, or infrastructure roles.
  • Deep expertise in sourcing passive candidates for hard-to-fill engineering roles through channels beyond inbound applicants.
  • Hands-on experience partnering with engineering leaders, including senior and executive-level stakeholders, to define hiring plans and calibrate technical interview loops.
  • A solid grasp of the AI infrastructure and semiconductor hiring landscape, including competitive compensation and leveling practices.
  • Strong ability to manage a high-volume requisition load while maintaining a high bar for candidate experience.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and LLMs to optimize recruiting workflows, sourcing efficiency, and candidate engagement.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a track record of closing competitive offers in a tight talent market.
  • Proven experience using an applicant tracking system to manage pipelines and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recruiting for semiconductor, hardware, or ASIC-adjacent software teams, such as firmware, drivers, or compiler engineering.
  • Familiarity with recruiting at an early-stage or high-growth startup, where processes and tooling are evolving.
  • An established network of software engineers within AI infrastructure, GPU, or accelerator communities.
Leveling & Scope

While this role is currently posted at a specific level, we are a growth-oriented organization and are open to hiring at a more senior level for the right candidate. Please note that this job description serves as a focused but generalized overview of the role; specific responsibilities and impact expectations will be tailored to the experience and seniority of the final hire.

Why Join Us?

This role is a chance to broaden your recruiting and operational skill set working alongside an experienced hiring leader, with exposure to strategy, process design, and company-building well beyond day-to-day sourcing. You'll build a genuine network with the engineers working at the forefront of inference systems and AI accelerator design. This is a specialized talent pool that you typically would not engage with when recruiting for generalist software positions. Because Positron is still early-stage, you'll put your own stamp on the company by shaping the software hiring function, tooling, and employer brand as it develops. You’ll also leverage agentic and LLM-powered tooling to modernize sourcing, screening, and pipeline management instead of working within a legacy recruiting stack.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $150,000 – $200,000.

Please note that the figures provided represent the base salary range only and do not include other elements of our total compensation package, equity, or comprehensive benefits.

At Positron AI, we value the unique expertise each candidate brings. While the range above reflects our typical expectation for the position, we reserve the flexibility to exceed this range for candidates whose specialized skills, significant experience, or unique qualifications fall outside the standard scope of the role. Final offers are determined based on a variety of factors, including internal equity, and individual impact.

Benefits & Perks

We want you to do your best work and feel confident that you and your family are taken care of. That means comprehensive coverage, real time to rest, and support for your future.

Health and wellness

  • Fully company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents
  • Company-paid life and disability coverage, with voluntary options to add more
  • Supplemental hospital, critical illness, and accident coverage available

Time off and flexibility

  • Unlimited paid time off so that everyone can truly unplug and recharge
  • 13 paid company holidays
  • Remote-first culture with a company-provided computer and home office setup

Compensation and future

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • 401(k) with company matching, eligible from day one
Visa Support

This position is open to candidates currently authorized to work in the U.S. We cannot provide new visa sponsorship for this role but are open to facilitating H-1B visa transfers for eligible candidates.

Equal Opportunity Employer. If you're excited about the role but don't meet every bullet, we'd still love to hear from you.
