The Opportunity

The Enterprise team at Axon focuses on helping large, complex organizations reimagine how technology can improve safety and operational efficiency at scale. As a results-driven Senior Sales Engineer here, you’ll enjoy a fast-paced, evangelistic startup environment and the opportunity for autonomy, ownership, and influence. In this role, you’ll work on impactful opportunities, apply technical expertise to shape how our solutions are applied to cutting edge outcomes, directly influence product innovation, and have the freedom to confidently challenge assumptions in order to grow the business and our customers’ success.

Location- Remote, west coast based 

Reports to the Sr. Director, Engineering- Enterprise

Travel is 50% 

Your Impact
  • Enterprise Technical Sales Success: own securing technical wins and influencing purchasing decisions by architecting solutions leveraging Axon’s ecosystem that deliver value in alignment with customers’ business and technical requirements
  • Strategic Technical Leadership: build deep relationships with executive and technical stakeholders as a trusted technical advisor throughout the Enterprise customer journey, from early discovery and solution design through executive alignment and deal closure
  • New Use Case Development: identify and architect high-value, industry-leading solutions by uncovering customers’ emerging operational needs and next-generation desired outcomes
  • Drive Customer-Based Product Innovation: deliver detailed, data-driven customer feedback and insights to influence product roadmap prioritization and market fit
  • Exceptional Cross-Functional Relationships: establish collaborative partnerships across Sales, Product, Engineering, Professional Services, and Customer Success to accelerate the business, mature processes, and foster strong teamwork
  • Elevated Team Excellence: strengthen team performance by documenting and sharing best practices and domain expertise, as well as continuously sharpening your craft
Profile of SuccessStrategic Customer Leadership:
  • Strategic, customer-facing technical leader with 8+ years of experience excelling in complex Enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Discovery expert that deeply understands customers’ core challenges and objectives even if not explicitly stated, and translates them into scalable, outcome-driven solutions especially when pioneering ground breaking applications
  • Exceptional communicator exhibiting executive presence engaging with both senior decision-makers as well as technical stakeholders to deliver compelling narratives concisely and persuasively articulating a tailored value proposition
Experienced Technical Practitioner:
  • Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and architectures
  • Integrating AI to deliver value
  • SaaS-based solutions
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Familiarity with CCTV and video management systems, and access control technologies (e.g. Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Ocularis) is a plus
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Thought Leadership & Organizational Influence:
  • Constructive influencer who professionally challenges assumptions, both with customers and internally, and guides direction to strengthen customer and organizational outcomes
  • Highly autonomous operator comfortable with ambiguity who still remains deeply collaborative and aligned to team outcomes
  • Internal strategic partner with a proven record of establishing productive cross-functional relationships that streamline collaboration and eliminate organizational silos
  • Thought leader guided by strong ethics, grounded in humility, committed to accountability, and resilient for the duration of challenging circumstances
