Recurly is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to help drive continued growth for an innovative, rapidly growing enterprise software company. This individual will join our scaling sales organization and be a key part of our company’s growth.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives in qualifying new sales opportunities from a technical and product feature perspective.
- Present Recurly technical solutions and demonstrate the platform in face to face meetings and via Web conference tools.
- Build and deliver custom demonstrations which focus on key business drivers and functional requirements for potential customers.
- Collaborate with Account Executives in production of high quality sales proposals that outline competitive differentiators.
- Participate in the response to RFXs, including security questionnaires.
- Work closely with our product management team to convey customer requirements and review roadmap items.
- Act as a liaison between the sales team and other departments like marketing, security, and professional services.
- Assist with the support and ongoing development of Recurly demonstration environments, including examples of custom development and integrations with 3rd party applications.
- Keep abreast of payment industry trends, especially those related to the PCI DSS and other security and compliance topics.
Requirements
- 2-4+ years experience in a pre-sales, technical support, or other customer-facing technical position for an enterprise payments, Commerce or adjacent retail solution, SaaS, or software company.
- Experience working with a professional services organization, support team, and product managers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on one’s feet.
- Excellent computer skills including Salesforce.com, Google Apps, MS Office, and web presentation tools.
- Familiarity with basic front and back-end web development, i.e. HTML, CSS, JS, Ruby, Python, C#/.net, etc.
- Familiarity with RestFUL WebServices APIs.
- Familiarity with GitHub.
- 1+ years experience selling SaaS B2B/B2C software solutions into targeted accounts.
- Results-oriented approach which balances a “take charge, do-whatever-it-takes” attitude with teamwork and collaboration.
- Experience configuring and delivering software demonstrations is a plus.
- Experience selling ERP, financial applications, or subscription billing related products is a plus
- Experience in an accounting/finance role
- The ability to translate accounting requirements,
- Understanding of financial statements including Profit and Loss/Balance Sheet and Financial Disclosures and how RevRec posting impact those statements
- Basic understanding of the accounting function including accounts receivable, revenue and liabilities, cash reconciliations
- Understanding of internal controls related to accounting (the auditing function specifically)
- Certainly a basic understanding of ASC606/IFRS15 five step process
- Willingness to occasionally travel to customer sites, trade shows, etc. as needed
