About the Role:
Wellfit is expanding its payments engineering team to support the growing demand for secure, scalable, and innovative payment solutions. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong backend and cloud development experience, ideally with exposure to payment systems. This role will contribute to building and maintaining our payments infrastructure, integrating new payment methods, and ensuring compliance with security standards. You’ll join a collaborative team that values precision, security, and scalability in code. Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services with a focus on .NET and Azure cloud environments.
• Contribute to payment-related initiatives, including:
◦Expanding ACH features for practices and recurring billing.
◦Enhancing card payments with authorization, capture, and settlement.
◦Supporting device-based payments (e.g., Tap to Pay for iOS).
◦Exploring modernized payment methods (e.g., network tokens, bank verification).
• Drive secure coding practices, ensuring sensitive financial data is handled and logged properly.
• Participate in breaking down and modernizing microservices for improved scalability and throughput.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product stakeholders to align solutions with business needs.
• Contribute to resolving technical debt and building resilient systems to support increased transaction volume.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in .NET backend development.
• Experience with cloud development (Azure preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to integrate external APIs and services.
• Strong understanding of secure coding principles and compliance requirements for handling sensitive data.
Preferred:
• Payments industry experience (ACH, card processing, settlement, Worldpay integration, etc.).
• Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with scaling throughput in payment transaction systems.
• Familiarity with modern payment methods (Apple Pay, Google Pay, network tokens).
Compensation & Benefits:
• Competitive salary range: $130,000 – $150,000+, depending on experience and payments expertise.
