The Sr. Software Engineer - Test I (SET), with a focus on performance testing, will be responsible for creating and implementing frameworks and tools to test our products.  Our Software Engineers - Test (SET's) leverage open-source technologies and other tools to improve test coverage and increase the quality of our software.

SET's at Aspire understand software internals, debug code, automate repetitive tasks, and implement new tools and frameworks needed to streamline our quality processes. Our SET's work directly with both Software Engineers and Quality Assurance Specialists to understand product features, review technical designs, and implement automated test tools to help deliver quality features with efficiency. Our SET's understand customer usage models and can develop test plans and test cases that approximate real-world environments and scenarios.

What you'll do:

• Analyze production performance, behaviors, and architecture to produce tests that evaluate the performance of our products.

• Build performance-centric tests for our products.

• Analyze test results and provide insight to stakeholders.

• Collaborate with developers and product owners to contribute to planning and design, review product code, and formulate test scenarios.

• Create and maintain appropriate test data.

• Understand the product code and how it interacts with different components.

• Understand project documents, user stories, and product objectives to create and execute tests.

• Investigate customer problems and create automated tests to recreate them.

• Research test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrade existing practices and processes.

• Code and debug testing framework software components for all layers of our product.

• Be an active leader in the continuous improvement of our quality and development processes.

• You may also contribute to the functional testing suite.

What you’ll bring: 

• Minimum: 5 years hands-on software quality assurance testing experience, preferably with web and mobile applications in the software development industry.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in coding performance tests. (Locust, JMeter, etc...)

• 5+ years of experience with C#, TypeScript or other languages (Java, Python, etc.).

• Habit of writing clean, re-usable & parameterized code for Tests, ensuring coverage.

• Good knowledge of SQL.

• Basic software architecture and system knowledge. (Microservices, databases, HTTP, OS metrics, etc...)

Preferred Skills Requirements:

• Understanding of software testing methodologies, life cycle and processes.

• Experience developing high quality test strategies and test automation tools and frameworks.

• Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C#, TypeScript, .Net Core, Web API, JavaScript)

• Automated Unit Testing (MSTest, nUnit, xUnit, etc.) and TDD.

• Experience with Git, Jira and Confluence is a plus.

We thoughtfully consider a wide range of factors when determining individual compensation.The expected salary range for this role for candidates residing in the United States is between $113,100 USD - $151,300 USD. Compensation for candidates residing outside the United States will vary by location and the specific salary range will be discussed during the hiring process. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package also includes an annual bonus, equity and a holistic suite of benefits.
