Position Overview:

 We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Software Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented engineers while driving the delivery of scalable, high-quality software solutions. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and strategic thinking to ensure our engineering organization is aligned with business goals and operates efficiently. This engineering leader will grow a geographically diverse engineering team, primarily focused on building data integration capabilities.  These capabilities will support both AI and legacy system integration use cases to provide a secure, scalable and supportable platform.

Key Responsibilities:

 Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, hire and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering professional growth and continuous improvement.
  • Champion career development and continuous improvement through regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development planning.
  • Build a positive, high-performing team culture willing to take calculated risks. 

Technical Oversight

  • Guide architectural decisions and ensure technical excellence across projects, particularly in support of services and APIs for a multi-tenant SaaS application.
  • Build an AI-first team embracing emerging AI trends and toolsets.
  • Collaborate with engineers to review designs and code to improve quality and consistency.
  • Ensure teams follow best practices in testing, documentation, performance, and security. 

Delivery & Execution

  • Ensure team executes with strong agile principles, providing constant visibility of progress, obstacles and projections.
  • Partner with product management define requirements and project milestones.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks and bottlenecks, and implement mitigation and improvement strategies. 

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to the engineering roadmap and long-term technical strategy.
  • Help define team structure, hiring needs, and resource planning.
  • Champion process improvements and operational excellence initiatives. 

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as a key liaison between engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advocate for engineering needs, including tooling, infrastructure, and process enhancements.

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience in related field (12+yrs minimum).
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices, tools, and methodologies.
  • Experience overseeing complex multi-tenant SaaS software projects from concept to delivery.
  • Familiarity with modern AI tools used in a production environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Agile/Scrum methodology experience

Preferred

  • Experience with modern integration toolsets, such as middleware and public cloud API services.
  • Adept at designing solutions in public, private, and hybrid infrastructure models.
  • Effectively growing teams through both internal hires and partnerships.
  • Leveraging automation tools (CI/CD pipelines, IaC, configuration management) to modernize systems and processes.
