Position Summary:

The Solutions Engineer is a trusted technical advisor who partners with Sales to design and present scalable solutions that align client business objectives with DISA’s technical capabilities, while supporting seamless implementation and long‑term adoption. This role blends pre‑sales solution strategy with post‑sale onboarding expertise—leading discovery, shaping solution approaches, developing tailored demonstrations and proof‑of‑concepts, and ensuring proposed solutions are technically sound and operationally feasible. In addition to supporting complex sales cycles, the Solutions Engineer manages onboarding for moderate to complex accounts by coordinating implementation activities, supporting configuration and migration efforts, and driving operational and technology readiness. Working cross‑functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, Client Success, and Implementation teams, this role ensures solutions are positioned for successful deployment, scalable adoption, and sustained client success.

Essential functions, responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable, client‑aligned solution strategies by translating business and technical requirements into practical, sustainable architectures.

  • Apply solution design standards to evaluate feasibility, scalability, operational efficiency, and long‑term sustainability.

  • Assess risks and implementation considerations by identifying dependencies and recommending effective mitigation strategies.

  • Design solutions across products, systems, platforms, and integrations that align with client objectives and technical environments.

  • Lead technical solution strategy for complex sales opportunities in partnership with Sales to support competitive positioning and deal progression.

  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand client processes, environments, requirements, risks, and dependencies.

  • Develop and deliver customized demonstrations that communicate business value and address client‑specific needs.

  • Design, configure, and maintain proof‑of‑concept environments to validate technical capabilities, feasibility, and use cases.

  • Address technical objections through demonstrations, POCs, and consultative discussions for technical and non‑technical audiences.

  • Lead or contribute to RFP/RFI responses by preparing accurate technical documentation and identifying assumptions, risks, and dependencies.

  • Support negotiations with technical expertise on integrations, timelines, service levels, data security, and scope.

  • Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, Client Success, and Implementation to ensure solutions are technically sound and operationally feasible.

  • Communicate client feedback and competitive insights to inform product enhancements and improve solution quality.

  • Ensure smooth transitions from Sales to Implementation by documenting technical requirements, assumptions, and client commitments.

  • Solve complex technical and business challenges using critical thinking to evaluate trade‑offs, anticipate risks, and recommend practical solutions.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information systems, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.

  • 5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, software pre‑sales, enterprise technology, or technical consulting.

  • Proven success leading technical solution strategy for complex sales opportunities.

  • Experience developing customized demonstrations and proof‑of‑concept environments that validate technical capabilities and customer requirements.

  • Strong background supporting RFP/RFI responses and proposal development.

  • Experience supporting technical discussions and negotiations through solution expertise and risk identification.

  • Deep understanding of enterprise solution architecture, systems integration, implementation considerations, and consultative selling methodologies.

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts, build client confidence, and support deal progression.

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking abilities to evaluate complex technical and business requirements.

  • Highly adaptable, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, operational complexity, and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced working knowledge of compliance platforms, CRM systems, project management tools, and interconnected operational workflows across complex client environments.

Work Schedule: Mon – Fri 8:30 am – 5:00 pm EST 

Travel: This role requires occasional travel—approximately 20%—to support client onboarding activities, onsite implementation sessions, and key cross‑functional project needs. 

Internal Mapping: This role aligns to the internal job profile of Senior Solutions Engineer within the Sales Operations job family. 

Physical Requirements: 
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Walk (occasionally), sit- up to 8hrs. a day, stand (occasionally), use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, able to lift up to 15lbs.(occasionally).

Job Pay Range

$85,000 - $105,000
