The Sr. Solutions Engineer will be responsible for providing support to the Global Sales & Sales Engineering organizations. This includes demos, lab trials support, FOA/FFA and evaluation efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities- Build, test, and ship equipment to field, lab personnel, and/or customers for customer evaluation.
- Assist with lab trials, field trials, first office applications, and one-time approvals.
- Order ancillary equipment like patch panels, cross connects, etc. in support of lab trials, FOA, demos.
- Partner with Sales Engineering team to install, demonstrate, and/or support ADTRAN equipment for customer lab trials, field trials, first office applications, and customer demonstrations.
- Assist customers and/or lab personnel in troubleshooting any issues found during product or release evaluations and work with Engineering to replicate and resolve such issues.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Operations for testing and shipping products that are not yet released but needed in the field.
- Attend internal product and technology training to establish working knowledge of ADTRAN equipment and supporting technologies.
- Phone and on-site support for customer field trials, lab trials, and other situations where there has been an established personal contact with the customer.
- Testing of equipment configurations in support of proposals or specific customer applications.
- Address application related questions or concerns as it relates to ADTRAN products.
- Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the Company.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience designing and/or implementing network solutions for GPON, optical DWDM and CWDM, xDSL, Carrier Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and internetworking experience including: Technical applications experience
- The applicant should have a core knowledge of IP routing and Layer 2/3 Ethernet networks.
- Knowledge of various technologies and their implementation including: DSL, PON, Gig-E, VoIP, ATM, IMA, T1, TDM voice, routing, switching, Wi-Fi and management software attributes such as TR069, TL1, MIBs, SNMP, etc. required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Windows OS, Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Word required.
- Some travel may be required in this position.
- Basic knowledge of ATM, IP, Optical, and Ethernet networks and access products preferred.
- Experience with GPON, ADSL2, VDSL2, and SHDSL access technologies, products, and knowledge of TL1 command language is preferred.
- Standards familiarity with TR-101, TR-169 and G.984 1 – 4 preferred.
