Shield AI is seeking a YouTube Producer to lead the development, production, publishing, and growth of the company’s YouTube channel. This role combines the craft and editorial judgment of a senior video editor with channel strategy, audience development, and performance ownership.
The YouTube Producer will turn Shield AI’s work in autonomy, aviation, defense, and artificial intelligence into clear, accurate, audience-focused stories. They will manage projects from concept through final edit, packaging, publishing, and analysis while partnering with technical experts, executives, and communications teams.
What you'll do:
- Own Shield AI’s YouTube programming strategy, editorial calendar, publishing cadence, and channel-growth plan.
- Develop and produce video concepts including explainers, product stories, interviews, flight-test content, event coverage, customer narratives, and short-form video.
- Lead projects from creative brief through scripting, interviews, production planning, editing, review, and delivery.
- Edit high-quality long-form and short-form content, including story structure, pacing, sound, graphics, color, captions, and final delivery.
- Package and publish videos using effective titles, thumbnails, descriptions, chapters, playlists, metadata, and calls to action.
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in video production, post-production, digital media, editorial, or content marketing.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating video editing, visual storytelling, interview production, narrative structure, and digital-video judgment.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and working knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent tools.
- Demonstrated experience producing and publishing content for YouTube or similar digital-video platforms.
- Strong understanding of YouTube packaging and analytics, including thumbnails, titles, audience retention, click-through rate, watch time, and subscriber growth.
- Ability to independently develop concepts and manage productions from idea through published video.
- Willingness to travel periodically for production, events, customer activities, or field shoots.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience managing or growing a YouTube channel for a technology, aerospace, defense, industrial, science, or mission-driven organization.
- Experience with camera operation, lighting, location audio, and directing interviews or on-camera talent.
- Experience managing freelance editors, motion designers, production crews, agencies, or vendors.
- Familiarity with YouTube Shorts and adapting long-form content for short-form distribution.
- Experience working with regulated, security-conscious, or high-growth technology organizations.
