The Senior Strategic Account Executive is responsible for client growth / retention and client satisfaction, supporting the renewal of existing contracts and upselling of appropriate services to assigned health plan clients. The Senior Strategic Account Executive manages ongoing client relationships and day-to-day strategic delivery for an assigned book of business and serves as a client-centric, client-facing resource and lead point of contact. Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of OptumRx solutions according to customer needs and objectives
- Act as outward-facing resource for assigned accounts, typically with direct client contact(s) with assigned health plan(s)
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all client account management matters with majority involving pricing, rebates and contractual inquiries
- Support renewal and upselling programs
- Implement and adhere to client contract / amendments
- Manage complex reporting needs as requested by assigned health plan(s)
- Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations related to pricing, rebates and/or contractual terms, as needed
- Build relationships with key stakeholders at assigned health plan(s) and partners with Optum Rx COE team for overall and day-to-day strategic delivery
- Represent client internally and coordinates with Optum Rx Center of Excellence (COE) teams to implement upsell programs, pricing/contract terms, rebates, etc. when needed

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of client relationship management and/or account management experience
- 5+ years of PBM client management experience
- Health plan and/or health system experience
- Experience reading, interpreting and negotiating contract terms
- Client-facing presentation experience
- Proven experience developing written content for executive summaries
- Advanced understanding of the PBM/pharmacy industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in multiple lines of business; Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and Exchange.
- Experience navigating reporting and reporting systems
- Experience working with RxClaim
- Experience interpreting financial data: e.g. pharmacy rebates
- Experience working cross-functionally within a matrix environment
- Experience leading by influencing without authority
- Experience prioritizing competing tasks, working with limited supervision and meeting deadlines
- Proven business Acumen, including solid negotiation skills
