Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure Operations (InfraOps) team. This role is focused on systems operations, stability, and support, with responsibility for building, administering, and maintaining highly available, secure, and compliant Linux and Windows environments that support business-critical applications.

The Senior Systems Engineer plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence across our infrastructure, partnering closely with Engineering, DevOps, Security, Compliance, and Member Services. This role also provides escalation support for complex system issues, owns operational health of key platforms including our Amazon Connect–based Telecom environment, and participates in the InfraOps on-call rotation.

Work Environment: Hybrid – In office (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday)
Locations: Dallas Texas - 2801 N Central Expressway

What You’ll Do:

  • Build, administer, and support Linux and Windows server environments for business-critical systems.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and recoverability of production infrastructure.
  • Perform day-to-day operational activities including system monitoring, patching, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Participate in the InfraOps on-call rotation, providing off-hours support and incident response via PagerDuty.
  • Act as an L3 escalation point for complex infrastructure and platform issues.
  • Respond to incidents, troubleshoot root causes, and drive remediation to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor systems, logs, and alerts using tools such as Splunk.
  • Own OS and application patching, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening.
  • Ensure infrastructure meets security and compliance requirements (PCI, SOX, SOC 2, etc.).
  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to address audit findings and security risks.
  • Support and operate the Telecom/contact center platform built on Amazon Connect in partnership with Member Services.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and DevOps teams to support application deployments and infrastructure changes.
  • Improve operational standards through documentation, runbooks, monitoring, and automation.

Who You Are:

  • 7+ years of experience supporting production Linux and Windows server environments.
  • Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills (Amazon Linux preferred).
  • Experience managing Windows Server in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, including IAM and AWS Systems Manager.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms (e.g., Splunk).
  • Experience supporting Amazon Connect or large-scale telecom/contact center platforms is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with attention to operational detail.
  • Clear communicator able to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Self-directed, organized, and comfortable managing multiple operational priorities.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $155,000 The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Care.com provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
