Mob Entertainment is a startup multimedia studio that is best known for our hit indie horror game "Poppy Playtime".  This franchise is one of the hottest new properties in gaming, and our team is naturally expanding as our ambition expands.  To give a taste of our brand's popularity, more than 100 billion YouTube views of Poppy Playtime related content have occurred since the game's launch 4 years ago. 


The Role

We're looking for a Sr. Technical Character Artist for our rapid prototyping Skunk Works team.  You'll be responsible for breathing life into our characters for the first time in the prototypes we build out of the backlog of diverse ideas.  Characters are very important to us, and getting them right is a priority at our studio. 

Responsibilities

  • Play a critical role in reviewing, clarifying and refining character concepts
  • Assess requirements for each concept, quickly identifying what will be needed to build it
  • You own the modeling, surfacing, rigging and effects of and for all characters
  • You will work with teammates on setting up behavior BPs and trees to drive the character’s states / behaviors

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience building characters for interactive experiences in Unreal 
  • Modeling and surfaces experience
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills in a remote-first environment
  • Service-based attitude.  You thrill in bringing worlds to life, regardless of origin
  • Experience with scripted cinematic sequences

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with the Poppy Playtime universe and its visual language
  • Animation experience
  • Game design experience
  • Passion for the horror genre and atmospheric storytelling

Salary Range
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Final compensation within the applicable
salary range will be determined based on factors such as the applicant’s experience,
qualifications, and work location.

San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA; Boston, MA; & DC
Metropolitan Areas: $131,000–$160,000 USD annually

Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; & Miami, FL
Metropolitan Areas: $114,000-147,500 USD annually

All Other U.S. Locations: $97,000–$125,000 USD annually
