Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex IT infrastructure and technology transformation projects to support bank modernization initiatives. The role requires strong technical depth, governance discipline, and senior stakeholder management across business, IT, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of large-scale infrastructure and platform projects (compute, network, virtualization, middleware, DR, cloud platforms)

  • Manage project scope, timeline, budget, and resources to ensure successful delivery

  • Develop and track project plans, milestones, risks, and dependencies

  • Ensure compliance with governance, security, and audit requirements

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across infrastructure, application, security, and operations

  • Collaborate with Group architecture teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and modern technology standards

  • Manage vendors, system integrators, and external partners to deliver agreed outcomes

  • Drive risk and issue management with timely escalation and resolution

  • Provide clear status reporting and steering materials for senior management

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline

  • Minimum 15 years of IT experience, with extensive experience managing complex technical projects/programmes

  • Strong experience in infrastructure and platform delivery (data center, virtualization, network, DR, platform services)

  • Hands-on exposure or strong understanding of modern technology platforms, such as:

    • Cloud (private / hybrid / public) and cloud-native architecture

    • Container platforms (e.g. Kubernetes / OpenShift)

    • Middleware and integration (Kafka, API/Microservices)

    • DevOps and CI/CD practices

  • Proven experience in banking or highly regulated environments

  • Strong understanding of project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, SDLC)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in core banking, payment systems, or large-scale transformation programmes

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (HKMA, MAS)

  • Certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, Agile, or Cloud certifications)

Key Competencies

  • Strong stakeholder and vendor management at senior level

  • Solid technical grounding with ability to challenge modern solution design

  • Ability to bridge traditional infrastructure and cloud-native environments

  • Effective communication with senior management and non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong risk management, problem-solving, and delivery focus
