Senior Test Automation Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a high-priority payment platform migration engagement. You'll be building automation coverage from the ground up — ahead of manual QA, ahead of development milestones — as the team migrates from legacy payment processors to a modern global payment platform. This is a shift-left engagement where automation isn't a follow-up activity; it's the foundation everything else is built on.

The scope spans end-to-end, integration, and API-level testing across payment flows touching an OMS, an e-commerce platform, and returns processing systems. Go-live is a hard deadline with war room support expected through hypercare.

Working hours: 8am - 4pm EST (US time)

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts in Java and/or JavaScript across the full payment migration scope.

• Build test suites ahead of manual QA activity and development milestones — automation-first, not automation-after.

• Build and maintain end-to-end, integration, and API-level tests covering payment flows across OMS, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and returns/kit processing systems.

• Validate payment-specific scenarios through automation: transactions, token migration, refunds, chargebacks, and edge cases across all integrated systems.

• Integrate automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous feedback and early defect detection.

• Work closely with the QE Lead to align on coverage priorities, execution schedules, and reporting cadences.

• Maintain clear documentation of frameworks, coverage, and results to feed into daily and weekly status reporting.

• Support automation coverage expansion for additional workstreams pending scope confirmation.

• Participate in end-to-end testing sessions and remain available for war room support through go-live and hypercare.
  

• 5+ years of hands-on QA automation experience.

• Proficiency in Java and/or JavaScript for building and maintaining test automation frameworks.

• Strong API test automation skills — essential for validating payment integrations and transaction flows.

• Strong manual QA foundation — ability to create test plans, test cases, and execute structured manual testing; automation is the primary focus but manual QA skills are required to complement it.

• Payment domain knowledge — hands-on experience testing payment flows, transaction processing, or financial systems; understanding of how payments move through integrated platforms is essential for this engagement.

• Demonstrated shift-left experience: building automation early in the cycle, not as a follow-up to manual testing.

• CI/CD integration experience — able to plug test suites into existing pipelines for continuous execution.

• Comfortable working within a structured QA workstream, following coverage priorities and reporting to a QE Lead.

• Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud test automation — would significantly reduce ramp-up time.

• Familiarity with Adyen, Braintree, or Stripe — payment platform knowledge is a plus; strong documentation makes this learnable on the job.

• Prior exposure to payment platform migrations or token transfer validation at any QA level.

• OMS automation experience given order management is a core system in scope.
