Senior User Researcher

Remote – US & Canada

Role

The Player Insights team at TGC helps build a player-centric culture by running qualitative and quantitative studies that connect our development team with the impact of their work. We are looking for an experienced User Researcher to help our designers better understand our players, allowing them to make better decisions that bring more joy and happiness.

This role requires strong quantitative research skills, including data analysis, statistical modeling, and proficiency with analytical tools, to drive data-informed decision-making. The candidate will also mentor peers on quantitative research methodologies to build team expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with leadership to understand franchise goals, then engage with project stakeholders early to understand the intended impact of their work

  • Design and execute end-to-end studies using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate whether the player experience meets project goals.

  • Partner with Data Analysts & Scientists to synthesize mixed-method insights, creating a more holistic view of player behavior and sentiment

  • Present actionable insights back to stakeholders in a clear and compelling way while providing recommendations and ongoing design consultation

  • Effectively communicate your discoveries with the wider organization so that they may better understand the experience of our players

  • Improve the researcher process with our development team with each cycle.

Requirements

  • 5+ years or equivalent experience in user research or market research

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a human-focused discipline such as Psychology, Anthropology, or Human-Computer Interaction.

  • Experienced in qualitative and quantitative research methods—including interviews, focus groups, playtests, diary studies —with deep specialization in surveys

  • Proficient in core statistical methods—including regression, correlation, and factor analysis—and experienced with a statistical package such as R or SPSS

  • Excellent written English with experience writing effective survey questions

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

  • Excellent spoken communication skills with experience running (remote) focus groups

  • Experience working with cross-cultural teams and audiences

  • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams

  • Passion for games and a belief in thatgamecompany’s mission

The salary range for this position is $103,000 USD to $140,000 USD annually, with the

opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices. Employees in this position are eligible to participate in the Company’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, and paid time off.
