Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing
We are seeking an exceptional SVP, Corporate Marketing to build and lead the next generation of our corporate marketing function.
This leader will shape how the company is perceived by clients, prospective clients, employees, prospective employees, industry partners, investors, and the broader marketplace. The successful candidate will inherit a company whose operational scale, capabilities, and market position exceed the current awareness and perception of its brand. The mandate is to close that gap.
The SVP, Corporate Marketing will establish a unified national brand, materially strengthen the company's position with institutional-quality clients, create a sophisticated inbound demand-generation engine, professionalize communications and reputation management, and build a modern, technology-enabled corporate marketing organization that demonstrates measurable business and financial returns.
This leader must be equally capable of operating at two levels:
- Strategic leader: a senior partner who helps shape enterprise strategy, growth priorities, culture, reputation, and market positioning.
- Hands-on builder: an operator willing to personally engage in messaging, campaigns, analytics, technology, events, organizational design, and problem solving while building the team and infrastructure required for the company’s next stage of growth.
The SVP, Corporate Marketing will lead the corporate marketing team, with responsibility spanning enterprise strategy, brand, communications, public relations, digital, content, events, marketing operations, analytics, creative, and reputation management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Enterprise Marketing Strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate marketing strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives, operating strategy, client segmentation, and long-term vision
Translate company strategy into a clear marketing agenda with measurable priorities, resource requirements, investment levels, and expected returns
Brand Strategy and Market Positioning
Establish and protect a clear, differentiated national brand architecture
Define the company's positioning, value proposition, messaging hierarchy, brand standards, visual identity, tone of voice, and enterprise narrative
Demand Generation and Business Development Partnership
Serve as a close strategic partner to the business development and sales leadership teams
Build a corporate marketing engine that generates qualified inbound opportunities and improves the productivity of outbound business development
Develop content, campaigns, executive visibility, thought leadership, digital strategies, account-based marketing initiatives, and outreach programs that support defined client segments and growth priorities
Digital Search, AI, and Marketing Technology
Lead a comprehensive modernization of the company's corporate digital marketing capabilities
Oversee the redesign and continued evolution of the company's corporate website
Develop a modern search strategy encompassing technical SEO, content SEO, national search visibility, Generative Engine Optimization, AI answer-engine visibility, LLM discoverability, structured content architecture, and digital authority development
Corporate Communications and Public Relations
Create a proactive media and communications strategy that increases the company's visibility and strengthens its reputation
Ensure the organization has clearly defined protocols, decision rights, spokesperson responsibilities, escalation procedures, messaging frameworks, and response plans for reputational events
Events and Industry Presence
Create a consistent and distinctive company presence across conferences and industry gatherings.
Oversee client conferences, executive events, client experiences, sponsorships, trade shows, and other strategic gatherings
Client Retention and Customer Marketing
Develop corporate marketing strategies that strengthen client engagement, loyalty, and retention
Partner with operations, business development, and executive leadership to create a structured client communications strategy
Employer Brand and Culture
Partner closely with the Chief People Officer and senior leadership to strengthen the company's internal brand and employer value proposition
Corporate Social Media and Content
Create a deliberate corporate social-media strategy tied to defined audiences and business objectives
Marketing Analytics and Financial Discipline
Establish a rigorous performance-management system for corporate marketing
Build dashboards and KPIs that connect marketing activity to business outcomes
Team Leadership and Organizational Capability
Build, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing corporate marketing team with clear roles, decision rights, goals, and accountability
Establish effective operating rhythms, planning processes, service standards, and cross-functional ways of working
This position entails travel, estimated at 5% of work time annually. Travel may be required for conferences, training sessions, or other business-related activities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline
- Significant progressive leadership experience in sophisticated corporate marketing organizations
- Experience serving as Head of Marketing, VP Marketing, SVP Marketing, or comparable senior corporate marketing leader
- Experience operating within a large-scale organization and leading experienced professionals or functional leaders
- Experience building, rebuilding, or materially transforming a corporate marketing function rather than solely inheriting a mature organization
- Demonstrated success operating in a high-growth environment
- Meaningful experience in B2B marketing, with the ability to address multiple constituencies and complex customer journeys
- Experience marketing a service-based business with multiple audiences and a long, relationship-driven sales cycle
- Demonstrated ability to connect marketing activity to commercial and financial outcomes
- Experience partnering closely with senior sales or business-development leadership
- Experience managing a meaningful corporate marketing budget and making disciplined investment decisions
- Experience developing enterprise-level marketing strategies and personally helping execute them
- Demonstrated success improving brand awareness and market positioning
- Experience building or directing sophisticated communications, public relations, digital, content, events, analytics, and brand programs
- Experience developing high-performing teams and cross-functional partnerships
- Modern digital sophistication, including practical experience with SEO, Generative Engine Optimization, LLM and AI-platform visibility, AI-enabled content and marketing workflows, CRM platforms, marketing automation, attribution, digital analytics, customer segmentation, website strategy, conversion optimization, content architecture, social-media analytics, data-driven decision making, and marketing performance dashboards
- Experience within property management, residential real estate, multifamily, student housing, senior housing, affordable housing, hospitality, or another adjacent industry is strongly preferred but not required
- Experience within a Top 10 property management organization or another large-scale, distributed service organization would be particularly attractive
- Direct property management experience may accelerate the successful candidate’s learning curve, but it will not substitute for exceptional corporate marketing capability
