Job Summary

Next Generation, Inc., an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking an experienced WorkForce Software Functional Implementation Consultant to support complex workforce management initiatives for large enterprise clients. In this role, you will collaborate directly with customers to understand their operational needs, examine their current systems and processes, and guide them toward optimized solutions within the WorkForce Software platform.
You will rely on your extensive Human Capital Management expertise to design and configure sophisticated solutions for enterprise organizations, including Fortune 500 clients. This position requires regular travel to Chicago (approximately 50–75%) based on project needs.


Job Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients daily to understand their workforce challenges, assess system requirements, and analyze existing business processes.
  • Conduct functional assessments and translate client needs into tailored WorkForce Software configuration strategies and best‑practice recommendations.
  • Apply deep HCM knowledge to architect end‑to‑end workforce management solutions that address complex business scenarios.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats, ensuring clients understand system behavior, recommended approaches, and next steps.
  • Lead implementations of WorkForce Software technologies while incorporating refined processes, updated tools, and modern methodologies that enhance solution outcomes.
  • Partner with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure successful execution across all phases of the implementation lifecycle.


Job Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience working on software implementation projects, including requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation.
  • Hands‑on background implementing or training end‑users on packaged enterprise applications or complex internal systems.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, with the ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
  • Familiarity with common delivery approaches such as Waterfall and Agile.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50–75%, primarily to Chicago, depending on project demands.
  • A college degree is welcome but not required—demonstrated ability and relevant experience are equally valued.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of system implementation methodologies and lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, concepts, and environments.
  • Proven success working in client‑focused, collaborative delivery teams.
  • Familiarity with HR, Payroll, or Workforce Management functional areas.
  • Experience supporting or troubleshooting complex software applications.
