About Discovered Labs

Discovered Labs is an SEO/AEO agency built by a Stanford rocket scientist turned AI researcher and demand gen marketer with experience scaling B2B SaaS companies to 8-figures in ARR.

We are trusted by hyper-growth companies like Instantly, Granola, incident and other $10M+ ARR B2B SaaS companies who want to get more leads and customers from both Google and AI assistants like ChatGPT.

We do this through a mixture of content marketing, technical optimisations and off-site brand amplification (PR, backlinks, Reddit marketing).

High-level overview of our approach:

  • AI automation and workflows: We build marketing programs as we would a product. Rather than waste several hours per week on repetitive tasks, our in-house team of ML engineers create workflows with custom technology that let us focus on the high-impact stuff.

  • Senior expertise: To ensure everything is done to a high standard and differentiated, everything we do is managed and elevated by a team of experts. We don't let automation get in the way of quality.

  • Full-stack: SEO and AEO rarely work as isolated tasks. We work across the entire funnel and multiple surface areas to ensure we own the outcome and clients win.

Note: If you want to stand out, please include a Loom video showing a tool, system or deliverable you've produced and are proud of. We'd love to see it!

This role

We're looking for an AI-pilled SEO Strategist to be the diagnostic and technical authority on a set of B2B SaaS client accounts: the person whose technical, on-page and AEO work survives scrutiny and keeps each client's visibility share moving.

You'll build the plan and run the execution in coordination with a team of SEO analysts, specialists, editors, and work closely with the Senior SEO Account Strategist who owns the commercial narrative and client relationship. Your work will mostly involve audits across on-page, off-page and technical, diagnosing performance gaps down to ranked root causes with the evidence behind them, building organic search plans and owning the implementation to a quality bar that holds up under scrutiny. You will optimize for Google and for AI assistants.

This is an individual contributor role. You build the plans and operate as the go-to technical expert within a pod of clients.

This role is fully remote, ideally your timezone is within +/- 4 hours of GMT.

This role is not for you if…
  • You need heavy management or you wait for perfect instructions before acting. We're looking for high agency - if you spot a broken process, you fix it.

  • You can't show verifiable depth across technical, on-page or off-page. You may specialize in a particular area but will be expected to have general full-stack expertise.

  • You ship on instinct and don't test your work. We're looking for someone who reasons from first principles to a root cause, verifies every figure at source, and checks what actually moved after a change, not someone who says "I just ship it."

  • You lack experience and/or willingness to use advanced AI workflows.

  • You're not comfortable with data and analytics. We want someone who can diagnose the why behind performance and back it with evidence.

  • You prefer to spend weeks performing audits before implementation. B2B SaaS clients expect results fast and everything needs to tie to commercial impact.

What you'll do

Hands-on SEO and AEO execution, diagnostics and strategy development across your accounts. Below is an overview, but your work will be prioritized by what clients need to get results rather than a kitchen sink approach. You will also work alongside a broader team of specialists who may be the go-to for some tasks.

  • Run SEO and AEO audits: technical, on-page and content. Find what's holding an account back and prioritize by impact.

  • Diagnose performance: trace a visibility or ranking decline to ranked root causes, each with the GSC, crawl or SERP evidence behind it, before you propose a fix.

  • Build search strategy and plans: prioritized for commercial impact and targeted at the topics, queries and prompts a client needs to win, for the senior who owns the client to sign off.

  • Execute technical SEO: identify issues (crawlability, indexation, structure, performance) and implement the fixes or write client-ready briefs.

  • Optimize on-page: for landing pages and blog content by working search intent, content structure, internal linking and trust signals.

  • Refresh decaying content: diagnose the root causes and handle the implementation.

  • Optimize for answer engines (AEO): make client content the source LLMs and Google AI Overviews cite, using our internal methodology and tools, as one surface among many.

  • Plan and target the content: build keyword and topic clusters around the queries and prompts a client needs to win.

  • Verify everything and test what you ship: never let an unverified figure or estimate into a plan, and check what actually moved against the system after a change.

  • Enable the account owner: hand the SEO Account Strategist who owns the client a decision-ready read, the data and the diagnosis, never a raw data dump.

How you'll spend your time

A rough split across your assigned accounts; it flexes month to month with what each account needs.

  • 40%: Shipping and coordinating work. Producing and shipping the week's work across your accounts and keeping it all moving: content, technical fixes, on-page, content refreshes, internal linking, landing-page work, off-page and AEO, all verified at source before it goes out.

  • 30%: Diagnosing, planning and measuring. Auditing accounts to understand what's driving performance, building and prioritising the search strategy by commercial impact, and measuring what actually moved after a change.

  • 15%: Client communication. Being present on client calls to walk through the diagnosis, staying close in day-to-day client Slack, and giving the account owner the read behind the client story they lead.

  • 15%: Upskilling and evolving the methodology. Sharpening your own skills as search and AI assistants keep changing, and constantly evolving the methodology behind how we work (the tooling, templates and process) so the team keeps getting better.

The ideal person for this role
  • You like data. You enjoy digging into the numbers to understand cause and effect, and you never assert a figure you haven't verified.

  • You think from first principles. You reason to a root cause from the mechanism rather than running a checklist; paint-by-numbers SEO is exactly what we're not hiring for.

  • You're full-stack. You can get into the technical weeds and reason about on-page and off-page. You understand the bigger picture of organic and AI-search performance.

  • You're AI-native. You use AI tools daily as a workflow multiplier (briefs, clustering, audit summarisation) and still own the final, validated output. You build workflows, not just type into ChatGPT.

  • You have high agency. If you discover a broken process or problem, you seek to fix it. Proactive rather than reactive.

  • You document. You turn recurring tasks into documentation that anyone can follow. We want performance to be built through systems, not heroics.

Requirements
  • Hands-on execution depth and demonstrated impact across on-page, off-page and technical

  • Experience building search strategies and plans, not just task execution

  • Diagnostic and verification rigour: you trace performance to root causes with evidence and never assert a figure you haven't checked at source

  • Fluency in GSC, GA4 and Ahrefs (and a crawler such as Screaming Frog) to find cause and effect, not just pull numbers

  • AI-native operating: you actively use AI tools to build workflows and accelerate production without it being AI slop

  • Competency in project management tools such as ClickUp

  • Agency background with experience working across multiple client accounts at once

  • Strong documentation and process improvement habits

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Nice-to-haves (not required)
  • Client-facing experience and commercial awareness

  • Familiarity with B2B SaaS

Culture fit

You should ideally believe:

  • Search has fundamentally changed. Google and backlinks still matter but are no longer the full picture - AI search is a new frontier and you're excited about that shift.

  • AI is a force multiplier, not a crutch. You're actively using (or willing to use) AI tools daily: prompt engineering, context files, projects. You build workflows, not just type into ChatGPT.

  • Speed and quality are both achievable. Everyone on our team operates at a fast pace, is reliable and takes extreme ownership of their work. There are no passengers at Discovered Labs.

You'll thrive here if: You get energy from doing excellent work that makes clients successful. You see gaps in processes and fix them without being asked. You proactively communicate and move fast.

You won't thrive here if: You need heavy management. You wait for perfect instructions before acting. You think SEO is still just about keywords and links.

What's in it for youBenefits
  • $35,000 -$50,000 annual salary depending on relevant skills and experience

  • Fully remote position

  • We're small but growing, which means opportunities (financial, experience, job roles), including a real senior track toward Senior SEO Strategist and Principal SEO Strategist with no people management required

  • Paid leave

  • Autonomy to perform your role

  • Access to the best in-house SEO/AEO tools that have been built by top engineers

Work in a new type of agency

We're not a typical SEO agency. You'll get a front-row seat in a company that's truly tech-forward. Here's what makes us different:

  • AI-native from day one. One of our co-founders is ex-Stanford AI. We don't bolt AI onto old processes, we build around it. We're building a tech-first agency.

  • We build our own tools. We're constantly designing systems that scale quality without shipping AI slop. Engineering and ops thinking is part of the culture.

  • Going against the norm. Most SEO agencies move slow, get bogged down in audits and wait for perfection. We move unreasonably fast, prioritise commercial impact and have objective data to show our operating model works.

  • Everyone has a scorecard. We're relentlessly data-driven. Every person tracks leading metrics so we catch problems early and stay aligned.

  • Small team, big ownership. No layers of middle management. You'll have direct access to founders and real influence on how we operate.

  • We share what we learn. We publish our methodologies (like the CITABLE framework) because we believe transparency builds trust and a rising tide lifts all boats.

We look forward to seeing your application.
