THE CHALLENGE

We are seeking a seasoned ServiceNow CMDB Authority to spearhead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of our Configuration Management Database. This critical role requires not only deep technical expertise in ServiceNow CMDB but also exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills. You will be instrumental in navigating diverse viewpoints, establishing clear standards, and fostering a culture of data integrity within a fast-paced, creative environment. This is a unique opportunity to build a foundational system from the ground up, empowering our teams with accurate and actionable insights into our technology assets.

WHAT YOU’LL TAKE ONSpecialty Skillset
  • Extensive hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Common Services Data Model (CSDM) including CI classes, attributes, and dependency mapping.
  • Proficiency in configuring ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping:
  • MID servers
  • Network and security settings
  • Discovery patterns, schedules and monitoring
  • Data sources and credentials
  • Error handling and troubleshooting
  • CMDB health maintenance
  • Strong understanding of IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Vulnerability Response (VR) principles and their integration with CMDB.
ServiceNow Platform Proficiency
  • Sophisticated knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, including ITSM modules (Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Service Catalog).
  • Experience with scripting (JavaScript, GlideRecord, GlideAjax), Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Workflows, and Flow Designer flows for custom solutions.
  • Ability to implement integrations and automation via IntegrationHub, published connectors, and scripted REST/SOAP APIs.
Data Management & Quality
  • Good understanding of data quality concepts, data governance, and data reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools within ServiceNow.
Other Technical Skills
  • Familiarity with IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework, particularly CI and asset lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization technologies (hypervisors, containerization), and Infrastructure as Code for integration within the platform.
 WHAT YOU BRING
  • 5+ years proven track record in ServiceNow CMDB, ITOM, ITAM implementation(s).
  • 6+ years of overall ServiceNow platform experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading technical discussions and individuals.
  • Background in enterprise asset management, infrastructure support, or engineering.
Great to Have
  • Good communication, collaboration and presentation skills, especially across creative teams with complex strengths.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS-CMDB or ITOM) is desired.
