About Paradromics
Brain-related illness is one of the last great frontiers in medicine, not because the brain is unknowable, but because it has been inaccessible. Paradromics is building a brain-computer interface (BCI) platform that records brain activity at the highest possible resolution: the individual neuron. AI algorithms then decode this massive amount of brain-data, enabling the seamless translation of thought into treatments.
Our first clinical application, the Connexus® BCI, will help people who are unable to speak, due to ALS, spinal cord injuries and stroke, to communicate independently through digital devices. However, the capabilities of our BCI platform go far beyond our first application. With the brain in direct communication with digital devices, we can leverage technology to transform how we treat conditions ranging from sensory and motor deficits to untreatable mental illness.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer with deep expertise in Ubuntu and Debian systems and a strong command of Kubernetes to join our IT team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments involving both physical server setup and virtualization, and who can architect, deploy, and maintain secure, resilient systems at scale.
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, Debian) in physical and virtual environments.
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters.
  • Design and implement robust virtualization strategies
  • Configure and manage server authentication systems (e.g., LDAP, Kerberos) and SSL/TLS certificates.
  • Manage user access controls and security policies.
  • Implement and maintain data management strategies, including backup, disaster recovery, and storage optimization.
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and ensure system stability, security, and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Electrical Engineering, and development teams to support infrastructure needs and CI/CD processes.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support and documentation for internal teams.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Linux systems, specifically Ubuntu and Debian.
  • MUST HAVE ON-PREM EXP
  • Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes (e.g., deployment strategies, Helm, ingress, scaling).
  • Proficient in managing both bare-metal and virtual server infrastructure.
  • Experience with certificate management, authentication systems, and secure user access controls.
  • Solid understanding of data storage systems and backup/recovery best practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with container runtimes like Docker or containerd.
  • Experience working in regulated or high-security environments.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools (e.g., using Bash, Ansible, Terraform) to improve system reliability and deployment efficiency.
  • Strong networking knowledge (firewalls, routing, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
  • Proven experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python).
Paradromics is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
