As a Human Resources Project Management Intern, you will play a key role in developing, supporting, and delivering HR strategies and training programs that directly impact veteran and military spouse hiring across our national partner network.
This is your chance to get real-world experience in employer engagement, workforce development, program execution, and data-driven strategy. You will be working directly with internal teams and external partners to solve real problems that matter to the military-connected community.
This internship is built for high-performing service members with backgrounds in recruiting, operations, training, logistics, or admin. If you’ve ever managed a team, built a timeline, trained others, or aligned units to meet a mission objective, you already have the foundation. We’ll help you build the civilian version.
Collaborate with Employers on Strategy and Design
Partner with HR teams to identify workforce challenges and build smart, scalable solutions
Help develop veteran hiring and retention strategies that align with business goals
Support the creation and delivery of employer training workshops and toolkits
Work with program managers to coordinate timelines, track milestones, and execute deliverables
Keep internal and client teams aligned through clear updates, briefings, and documentation
Serve as a connector between BufferSprings staff and employer stakeholders
Ensure communication is proactive, professional, and focused on outcomes
Review survey results and feedback from employers, candidates, and program participants
Identify trends, track engagement, and make recommendations for improvement
Assist in reporting that showcases program value and ROI to leadership
Use our CRM to manage client interactions, project tasks, and documentation
Ensure accurate records and help streamline internal and partner workflows
Take initiative, solve problems, and manage your responsibilities with confidence
Bring forward ideas, observations, and improvements to help strengthen delivery and impact
RequirementsEligibility for the DoD SkillBridge HR Project Management Internship
This opportunity is open to all active-duty service members approved or seeking approval through the DoD SkillBridge program. Officers and enlisted from any branch are encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience in military recruiting, operations, personnel, or training roles will find this internship especially relevant.
To be eligible, you must:
Be currently serving on active duty in the U.S. military
Have at least 90 days of service remaining before your official separation date
Have approval or be in the process of obtaining approval from your unit or command to participate in SkillBridge
Eager to develop skills in program management, project planning, and workforce strategy
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple moving parts
Clear communicator, both written and verbal, with confidence in cross-functional team settings
Able to work independently while staying highly engaged in a remote team environment
Driven to contribute to a mission that helps top-tier employers hire and retain military-connected talent
