GalaxyCon is a festival of fandom that celebrates comic books, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and more. GalaxyCon is more than a comic-con, it’s a galaxy of fun! 🚀 

We are looking for a resourceful, enthusiastic, creative, and entrepreneurial individual to join our marketing team. You will work with a passionate team to help execute digital and social marketing and advertising campaigns. A fondness for geek culture is critical in this role, as is a digital and mobile-first mindset. 

Key Responsibilities:

Day to Day:

  • Write related campaign and announcement ad copy, including post copy, headlines, and calls to action
  • Deliver multiple email campaigns based on a defined email marketing plan and audience
  • Facilitating the marketing team’s content distribution for all social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and others
  • Collaborating with the web team, programming team, talent team, operations team, and sponsors to ensure consistent and accurate messaging and branding across all platforms
  • Staying updated on the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in digital marketing and pop culture
  • Traveling to GalaxyCon events and coordinating with marketing team for onsite digital marketing activities, such as:
  • Setting up and troubleshooting the digital screens and displays at the venue
  • Posting “on the fly” videos to promote the events, sponsors, and activities on social media
  • Coordinating with marketing team on last-minute changes or announcements that need to be communicated to the attendees, such as cancellations, reschedules, parking updates, and event pushes
  • Other job duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 years of experience in email marketing, social media management, or a similar role
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, etc
  • Familiarity with web design and development tools, such as WordPress, HTML, CSS, and SEO
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in using email marketing tools, such as Mailerlite, Constant Contact, or similar
  • Familiar with email marketing metrics, such as open rate, click-through rate, conversion rate, etc
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for engaging and persuasive copywriting
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities
  • A passion for comic books, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, gaming, cosplay, and more
  • A willingness and ability to travel to GalaxyCon events, which may require working on weekends and holidays
