Summary: The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, eager-to-learn, and collaborative team player. As an Associate Software Engineer, you will work on a team to build innovative solutions, ensuring application performance and reliability, while also contributing to the development process.  
This role is hybrid that will work onsite 2 days per week at one of our locations: Chicago, Philadelphia or Dallas metro areas. Occasional travel may be required as part of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Actively code project tasks and adhere to coding best practices alongside other Software Engineers. 
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Java applications. 
  • Write and maintain technical documentation. 
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback. 
  • Support the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks like JUnit to ensure high-quality software. 
  • Gain experience with cloud technologies such as microservices, serverless computing, and containers. 
  • Develop RESTful APIs using Spring Boot. 
  • Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization under the guidance of senior engineers. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production issues and participate in on-call rotation as needed. 
  • Analyze and resolve issues related to application functionality and data integrity. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in Software Development.
  • Familiarity with Java 8 and above.
  • Basic understanding of Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • Exposure to relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with Java build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Exposure to front-end development technologies such as Angular or React.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Application Runtime (DAPR) is a plus.
  • Strong willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills. 

The base salary range for this position is budgeted for $86,940 to $94,500 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of proven experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, business needs, and market demand.
