About the Role:
We're building a global commerce platform to power $1T+ in annual transactions for millions of SMEs. As an SDE II on the frontend, you'll build the surfaces that customers and their buyers touch: storefronts, checkout, catalog, subscription management, invoices and contracts.
These surfaces carry money. They get embedded inside other people's experiences. They run on slow phones and flaky networks in 150+ countries. A layout shift shows up in someone's conversion rate, and a 300ms regression shows up in someone's revenue.
This role is for engineers who obsess over frontend craft and have the depth to back it up. If you already know why your bundle is that size, where your hydration cost goes, and what your service worker does on a cache miss, we want to talk to you.

This role is for engineers who obsess over frontend craft and have the depth to back it up. If you already know why your bundle is that size, where your hydration cost goes, and what your service worker does on a cache miss, we want to talk to you.
Responsibilities:
- Build and ship the commerce surfaces: storefronts, checkout, catalog, subscription management, invoices and documents
- Embed our experiences inside other experiences — module federation, iframes and white-label hosts that stay isolated, load fast and degrade gracefully
- Own performance budgets end to end: Core Web Vitals, bundle size, render cost, hydration, main-thread work. Measure them in CI and defend them
- Build installable, offline-tolerant PWAs with service workers, considered caching strategies and background sync
- Deliver WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility and full localisation across languages, currencies, tax and address formats, and RTL layouts
- Instrument the client with real-user monitoring and OpenTelemetry so regressions surface before customers report them
- Collaborate with PM/Design and mentor junior engineers
Requirements:
- 2+ years building and operating production frontend applications
- Deep Vue.js knowledge: the reactivity model, component composition, rendering
behaviour, and the runtime cost of each choice - A visible performance habit. You live in Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools and the performance profiler, and you can walk us through a regression you found, measured and fixed
- Service workers and caching strategy: precaching, runtime caching, versioning, invalidation, and offline behaviour that stays correct
- Client state management and local caching at scale (TanStack Query or
equivalent): cache keys, staleness, invalidation, optimistic updates - Accessibility as a build-time discipline: semantics, focus management, keyboard
paths, screen reader behaviour, WCAG 2.2 AA - Internationalisation and localisation: message extraction, plurals, locale-aware
currency and date formatting, RTL - Modern frontend tooling and module federation (Rspack, Vite), plus bundle analysis and code splitting
- An eye for craft. You notice the four-pixel misalignment, the janky scroll, and the layout shift that only appears on a throttled connection, and you fix all three
- Comfortable consuming typed backend contracts (ConnectRPC/protobuf) and reasoning about API contracts and error states
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
Tech Stack:
Frontend: Vue.js, Rspack, Module Federation, TanStack Query
Client platform: Service workers/PWA, OpenTelemetry, Vite, ESLint
Backend contracts: Go, ConnectRPC, Buf
Cloud: GCP (GKE), Pub/Sub
