Job Description

Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. Investigates problem areas. Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
The Software Engineer 3 contractor position is part of a state government team and will play a crucial role in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions. The Software Engineer 3 will perform developer duties that will include solution design and development, process automations, infrastructure management, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The contractor role is for a senior robotics developer for technologies that may include BluePrism, Microsoft Power Automate, and Azure. The role will be responsible for developing, testing, and troubleshooting bots that will automate various business processes. Hands-on experience with BluePrism, Microsoft Power Automate, and Azure is a must along with the ability to troubleshoot and validate HTTP responses. Knowledge of DOM, HTTP protocol, JavaScript, and HTML is also required. This will be a fast-paced project working in an Agile (Kanban/Scrum) environment.

Services are expected to start 12/15/2025 and are expected to complete by 08/31/2026. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 1500 hours. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing.

Position is ONSITE/Hybrid (with some hybrid work – determined by the hiring manager). The program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position. (Onsite Days, Mondays and Tuesdays) and (Remote Days, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays).

The program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA ONLY.

Qualifications

8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

8 Years RequiredHands-on experience with RPA development, with at least 4 years specifically using Blue Prism

8 Years Required Experience with web development including HTML, JavaScript, DOM and HTTP protocol

8 Year Required Experience with SQL/No-SQL databases

8 Years Required Experience with RESTful web services

4 Years Preferred Experience with API development

4 Years Preferred Experience with process discovery, requirements gathering, and solution architecture

4 Years Preferred Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, or Python

3 Years Preferred Experience with Azure infrastructure including troubleshooting

3 Years Preferred Experience with software development using Agile methodology

1 Year Preferred Experience with Power Automate development1PreferredBluePrism Certification

1 Year Preferred Microsoft Power Platform Developer Certification
