Position:                 Software Engineer II (Job Req# BC216963)

Location: 11305 Four Points Drive, Building 2, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78726 (Various Unanticipated Worksites)

Responsibilities: Responsible for building, maintaining and extending the necessary Microservices and APIs to enable merchants to sell products online using the BigCommerce platform by implementing new and extending existing features, fixing bugs, participating in code reviews, and producing and analyzing the performance of platform features. Analyzing users' needs to build highly-available, redundant, and scalable distributed systems. Design each piece of application to write code that is performant, maintainable, clear, and concise. Work closely with operations while building and scaling back-end services. Collaborate with product and design to support an optimal user experience to ensure that a program continues to function through maintenance and testing. Participate in code reviews to maintain and improve quality. Position will be headquartered in Austin TX but is a telecommuting position, allowing for remote employment from various unanticipated worksites throughout the United States.

Educ./experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field.  Coursework must include software engineering/computer science, data structures and algorithm analysis, C++ program in a UNIX environment, database systems, and advanced algorithm design and analysis. Position will be headquartered in Austin TX but is a telecommuting position, allowing for remote employment from various unanticipated worksites throughout the United States.

Salary range:             $97,000 to $152,800 per year

Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range (or have the minimum apply to them), but rather, the exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s location, relevant knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
