Data Engineer – Financial Intelligence Platform

Owner Awareness (OWARE) is building the financial anomaly detection layer for small and medium businesses — giving owners a real-time view into what's happening in their books before problems become crises.

We're hiring two data engineers to own and expand the current data infrastructure that powers our core product. You'll work directly with our engineering team to deepen our financial data pipeline, improve data quality and coverage, and help us build toward automated, intelligent detection at scale.

What you'll work on

You'll inherit a meaningful foundation, and your job is to take it further. That means building robust ingestion pipelines, improving data normalization and enrichment, and collaborating closely with product and engineering to support new detection capabilities as we grow.

What we're looking for

We're open to junior or mid-level engineers — what matters more is that you're curious, careful with data, and excited to work on a product that has real stakes for real business owners.

On the technical side, you should be comfortable with Python and SQL, have some experience working with financial or accounting data (QBO/Xero/Plaid experience is a plus), and understand how to build reliable data pipelines that hold up in production.

You'll thrive here if you like owning a domain end-to-end, can navigate ambiguity without getting stuck, and care about the quality and accuracy of your work.

Location

Remote-friendly. We're based in Austin, TX.
