ABOUT THIS ROLE
Zogo is seeking a Software Engineer I to help build, maintain, and improve our mobile and backend systems. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong technical foundation who is eager to grow their skills while contributing to real-world, production systems. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and collaborate closely with product, design, and IT teams to deliver reliable, scalable features. This is a hands-on role where you'll gain exposure across the stack, including mobile applications, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, while learning best practices in a supportive, fast-paced startup environment.

You'll be responsible for:
Software Development

• Build and maintain mobile applications using Ionic, Angular, and JavaScript.
• Implement and manage SDK integrations across Zogo's mobile ecosystem.
• Develop backend services and APIs with Node.js.
• Work with cloud infrastructure on AWS (Fargate preferred).
• Use tools like Postman for API development, debugging, and testing.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Partner with product and design teams to translate requirements into impactful solutions.
• Take ownership of features end-to-end, from design to deployment.
• Contribute to cross-functional projects and integrations.

Best Practices

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions.
• Ensure quality through testing, monitoring, and performance optimization.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building or contributing to mobile applications or SDKs (hybrid frameworks like Ionic/Angular).
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, Angular, Node.js.
• Exposure to DevOps concepts (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, deployments, or infrastructure tools).
• Familiarity with Postman and modern API testing practices.
• Ability to work across both front-end and back-end systems.
• Comfortable in a hybrid startup environment with shifting priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to fintech, edtech, or B2B SaaS.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or infrastructure-as-code.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code or containerized environments.
