As a Software Engineer at CharacterQuilt, you'll build AI marketing tools, maintain a TypeScript and React app, and collaborate on design.
CharacterQuilt is building a full-service AI marketing team. We have built one of the most proprietary datasets on earth when it comes to figuring out “what companies care about”, and we sell this data to sales and marketing teams at some of the fastest-moving companies on Earth. Your job is to help us turn this data into actionable interfaces for our customers.
Most startups talk about hiring for "slope over y-intercept". At CharacterQuilt, we pride ourselves on valuing momentum over everything. We believe your growth rate (the slope) isn't constant: you can increase it, and it's our job to convince you that this is the best place to do it.
What you'll do here: (ordered by the amount of time you’ll likely spend)
- Build tools for AI agents using external APIs, LLMs, and custom infrastructure
- Build & maintain the CharacterQuilt application a TypeScript + React app that is the daily driver of our end users and internal team
- Collaborate with our design engineer to ensure a fast, polished, and consistent experience across the entire application (Tailwind + shadcn/ui).
Qualifications:
- B.S. Computer Science or equivalent degree, undergraduate or higher
- Experience with tool use in LLMs [1] [2] and built real products using it
- Experience with Python (FastAPI, LLM APIs)
- Experience with ReactJS
- Experience with Typescript / Javascript
- Bonus: Experience with browser or testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright)
