Full-Stack Engineer  ·  Python / Django  ·  AI Litigation Platform

esumry is hiring a full-stack engineer with Python/Django experience who wants to ship AI-powered product for litigators.

No recruiters. Direct applicants only. We do not sponsor visas; you must already be authorized to work in the U.S. No relocation assistance.

What we do

esumry is an AI litigation platform built for defense. We help trial lawyers and claims professionals cut pretrial busywork across depositions, medical records, pleadings, and the rest of the case file so they can spend time on strategy instead of document wrangling.

About the role

We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to develop and maintain esumry with our startup development team, on an enterprise-grade AWS stack. This role is primarily in-office (coworking space) in the west Austin TX area.

What you will do

·    Ship product across our Python/Django services — HTML/CSS/JavaScript and the usual work of a small team on a multi-service platform.

·    Work on lawyer-facing workflows such as deposition digests, case timelines, medical-record analysis, pleading citations, and document drafting.

·    Write automated tests, review code, and use static code analysis.

·    Get hands-on experience with modern LLM work (retrieval, tool calling, evals, prompt iteration, fine-tuning models, etc).

What you bring to the table

·    2+ years of professional software development.

·    Strong Python and Django.

·    Comfort with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

·    The ability to write understandable, maintainable, testable code, and to learn new tools quickly.

·    Clear written and verbal communication on a small team.

·    Early-stage startup experience preferred.

·    AI-assisted software development experience preferred (Cursor, Copilot, or similar).

·    Legal-domain experience is helpful, not required.

·    BYOD

What we offer

·    Low six-figure salary plus significant equity.

·    Health insurance (100% of premiums covered by esumry), 14 days PTO, 10 paid holidays, approved courses reimbursed.

·    A small startup team and a lot of room to grow.
