This internship is with our Critical Communications Solutions Infrastructure Group. Our team is the engine behind bringing new software features to life—from initial concept to successful customer deployment. We own the entire software release lifecycle, with a focus on world-class program management, robust risk mitigation, and efficient execution. As an intern, you’ll be directly contributing to software products that our customers rely on to keep communities safe.
Job Description

The Role: Software Program Management Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated, analytical intern to contribute to software program management within our Critical Communications Networks products. This is a chance to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of enterprise software development and release.

Key Responsibilities

You will gain exposure across the full software lifecycle:

  • SW Operations Support: Collaborate with Product and Engineering Managers to clearly organize scope and provide operational support throughout the feature development process.

  • Release Coordination: Coordinate with Product, Engineering, and Services teams to facilitate interim milestones, dependencies, and deployments.

  • Performance Tracking: Track, analyze, and report on critical program metrics to ensure the program remains on schedule and within scope.

  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and actively develop or refine existing processes to enhance overall organizational efficiency and program delivery.

  • Risk Mitigation: Support engineering and product managers in identifying, documenting, and tracking potential risks that could impact the software delivery timeline.

  • Influential Communicator: Excellent ability to analyze complex data, draw clear conclusions, and communicate them effectively to different levels of the organization. Ability to bring the right experts together and support them in aligning with common goals and milestones.

  • Drive & Initiative: A proactive attitude with a strong interest in learning the fundamentals of program management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with internal and external business/technical teams.

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.

  • Highly organized, structured, and process-oriented; team building skills a plus.

  • Experience with Google Office Suite and Program Management Tools is a plus.

  • Candidate must be able to work 2-3 days in office at the Schaumburg location.


Basic Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

  • Must be an active student graduating no earlier than December of 2026.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident, or a student with work authorization.
