Job Description

As a Solutions Engineer within IFS Nexus Black, you will partner closely with Strategic Account Executives throughout the sales lifecycle to help enterprise customers understand how AI can solve their most complex business challenges.

This is not a traditional pre-sales engineering role. Success requires curiosity, business acumen and strong technical depth. You will combine consultative discovery, solution architecture and AI expertise to design customer-specific solutions that demonstrate measurable business value.

You'll engage directly with executive stakeholders, technical teams and business leaders, translating customer objectives into AI-powered solutions while collaborating closely with Product, Engineering and Customer Success teams.

You will play a critical role in helping customers move from vision to adoption by designing compelling demonstrations, leading proof-of-value engagements and influencing future product direction through customer insights.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Discovery & Business Consulting

  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer priorities, business processes and operational challenges.
  • Translate customer objectives into AI use cases aligned to measurable business outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities where Nexus Black can create competitive advantage and operational value.
  • Build trusted relationships with business executives, technical leaders and solution stakeholders.

Solution Design & Technical Leadership

  • Design end-to-end AI solution architectures leveraging Nexus Black capabilities.
  • Recommend approaches that combine AI agents, enterprise data, automation and existing IFS solutions.
  • Provide architectural guidance throughout customer engagements.
  • Create solution designs that balance innovation, scalability, security and operational readiness.

Solution Demonstrations & Proof of Value

  • Deliver compelling demonstrations tailored to customer use cases.
  • Lead technical workshops, design sessions and executive presentations.
  • Define and execute proof-of-value engagements that validate customer outcomes.
  • Support customers throughout technical evaluations and pilot initiatives.

Sales Partnership

  • Partner with Strategic Account Executives on opportunity qualification, technical strategy and deal execution.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor during enterprise sales cycles.
  • Help develop technical proposals, solution documentation and customer presentations.
  • Support competitive positioning and technical differentiation.

Product & Engineering Collaboration

  • Provide structured customer feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
  • Identify recurring customer requirements that influence product roadmap decisions.
  • Collaborate with AI Engineers to validate technical feasibility and prototype emerging capabilities.
  • Contribute reusable assets, demonstrations and best practices for the broader Solutions Engineering team.

Thought Leadership

  • Stay current on AI technologies, enterprise architecture trends and emerging industry use cases.
  • Represent Nexus Black at customer events, executive briefings and industry conferences.
  • Share technical knowledge internally and contribute to enablement across sales teams.

  • Salary Range: $160,000 - $175,000 plus bonus

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Solution Architecture, Technical Consulting, Pre-Sales Engineering or similar customer-facing technical roles.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software or AI platform sales.
  • Proven ability to engage both executive and technical audiences.
  • Experience designing enterprise technology solutions that integrate multiple platforms and systems.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
  • Experience working alongside enterprise sales teams on complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities.

Technical Knowledge

Experience in several of the following areas:

  • Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • AI agents and intelligent automation
  • Enterprise architecture
  • APIs and system integrations
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
  • Data platforms and analytics
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Enterprise security and governance considerations for AI
  • Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, Anthropic or similar AI ecosystems

Hands-on software development experience is beneficial but not required.
