About the role
At Drivetrain.ai, we don’t just sell a vision; we build it. We are looking for a Solutions Consultant who is technically adept and financially fluent to partner with our Account Executives and Data Analyst teams. In this role, you will go deep into the "how"—architecting data structures, building complex financial models, and demonstrating the tangible value of Drivetrain to CFOs and Finance leaders.
What You’ll Do
Architect & Build Solutions: Move beyond high-level strategy to hands-on execution.
You will design, model, and configure proof-of-concepts and pilot implementations within Drivetrain to solve specific financial pain points.
Serve the Office of the CFO: Act as a trusted advisor to CFOs and VPs of Finance. You will translate their complex business requirements—from FP&A and consolidation to scenario planning—into robust technical logic.
Data Architecture & Integration: Leverage your exposure to data architecture to design scalable data models. You will guide prospects on how to best structure their financial and operational data (ERP, CRM, HRIS) for optimal performance within Drivetrain.
Technical Workshops: Lead deep-dive technical workshops where you define business logic, map data flows, and build customized models live to prove the platform’s value.
Strategic Discovery: Conduct technical discovery sessions to uncover the limitations of a prospect’s current architecture (e.g., rigid Excel sheets, legacy EPMs) and map out a modern, data-driven planning infrastructure.
Cross-Functional Feedback: Act as the "voice of the implementation" to Product and Engineering, providing detailed feedback on backend data handling, modeling flexibility, and calculation engine performance based on real-world client scenarios.
Who You Are
Finance Background (CPA Preferred): You speak the language of finance fluently. A background as a CPA, or significant experience in FP&A/Corporate Finance, is strongly preferred.
You understand the nuances of the three financial statements, revenue recognition, and driver-based planning.
Implementation Heavy: You are not afraid to get your hands dirty with data. You have a track record of actually building models, not just presenting slides. You enjoy the puzzle of translating a messy spreadsheet into a clean, multidimensional model.
Data Architecture Exposure: You have a working knowledge of how data is stored and structured (Schemas, Dimensions, Cubes). You understand the implications of data granularity and hierarchy management on system performance.
EPM Expertise: Deep modeling experience in at least one major EPM product is required (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, TM1/Planning Analytics, Planful, Vena, Jedox, Abacum, Runway, etc.). You understand the mechanics of multidimensional planning.
Business Acumen: You can command a room of C-level executives. You possess the empathy to understand their stress points and the technical authority to prescribe the cure.
Agile & Technical: You are comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment where you may need to troubleshoot a data integration one hour and present a strategic roadmap to a CFO the next.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
CPA or CA designation is highly preferred.
3+ years of experience in EPM implementation, Sales Engineering, or Technical Finance roles.
