Our Finance Engineering team is seeking an experienced, innovative, and collaborative Solutions Engineer to drive enhancements and build new models within our financial planning applications, with a strong focus on IBM TM1. In this role, you’ll primarily partner with our Ads FP&A team to design and support the next generation of Ads planning and forecasting at Netflix, working within our unique culture of freedom and responsibility.

ABOUT THE ROLE

TM1 Model Development & Data Stewardship

  • Architect, build, and maintain robust TM1 models across multiple business domains (Ads, FP&A, HR, Accounting), ensuring data integrity and consistency.

  • Design scalable solutions and optimize Turbo Integrator (TI) processes for data loading, transformation, and automation.

  • Own TM1 data management: define data structures, oversee data quality, and communicate integration requirements to data engineering partners.

  • Build and support reporting structures and dashboards within TM1, enabling accurate and timely executive and self-service analytics.

  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.

Ads Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary architect and subject matter expert for Ads planning and forecasting within TM1.

  • Partner closely with the Ads business team and other stakeholders (FP&A, Finance, HR, Accounting, Employee Services, Talent) to deliver actionable, scalable solutions.

Mentorship & Best Practices

  • Mentor junior TM1 developers through technical guidance, code reviews, onboarding, and ongoing coaching.

  • Promote development standards, collaboration, and a culture of continuous learning within the team.

ABOUT YOU

  • TM1 Expertise: 2-8+ years of hands-on TM1 model development, including Turbo Integrator scripting and optimization.

  • Ads/Media Experience: Background in Ads, Media, Digital Advertising, or related industries, with insight into their planning and analytics needs.

  • Mentorship: Experience coaching or mentoring junior developers.

  • Model Management: Proven ability to manage and optimize models spanning multiple business areas.

  • Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of FP&A, Accounting, Workforce Planning, and analytics.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and Google Sheets; experience with large datasets and data quality best practices.

  • Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and build strong cross-functional relationships.

  • Problem-Solving: Curious, analytical, and passionate about continuous learning.

  • Project Delivery: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, CIS, or equivalent experience.

NICE TO HAVE

  • TM1 Developer, Anaplan Model Builder, or similar certifications.

  • Experience with SQL, Python, VBA, or other scripting languages.

  • Familiarity with ERP/Finance systems (Workday, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, NetSuite).

  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
