As a Solutions Engineer at Skio, you will collaborate across departments to enhance features, manage API integrations, and engage in Sales discussions, building effective solutions for subscription services.
About Skio
Skio helps Shopify brands turn one-time buyers into subscribers (and keep them).
We ship new features every week because standing still means falling behind. We're competing against platforms that haven't changed in years, and we're winning. Ask our competitors where most of their customers come to when they grow out their platform (and we don’t expect this to change). That's why brands like Grüns, Everyday Dose, IM8, and Instant Hydration trust us with their subscription revenue.
If you want to work somewhere that moves at startup speed but serves real enterprise brands, you're in the right place.
What we’re looking for:
- Connectors. you’d be working closely and strategically across multiple departments. Liaising between Engineering, Product, Migration/Launch, and working hand-in-hand with Sales. You need to be multi-lingual in all of these facets.
- Builders. Although this function isn’t new within Skio, you’d be taking the foundation that exists and building upon it (literally). Proof of concepts, MVP’s, feature recommendations that don’t exist, all will be a part of your playground.
- Learn it alls, not know it alls. Your background is important, and cool, but there will be many things that end up new. You need to be able to view through the lenses of: here’s what we would need to build, but also, here’s the work around. No stone unturned.
Must Haves/Non-Negotiables/What you’d be working on:
- Front end Web Dev: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, Liquid (Shopifys templating language), React, Next.js
- Advanced knowledge of API frameworks/integrations (GraphQL is our world, but REST knowledge is important as well)
- The ability to work cross-functionally through multiple departments, and speak the languages of all. You understand how a product is built, maybe even the underlying code beneath it all, and how it all comes together / brought to life.
- Comfort presenting in front of large audiences. You’ll be a key part on Sales calls/evaluations – comfort being highly technical when needed, and more layman's terms when not needed (ELI5) – balance is key in front of the right audiences, and you can understand when and who to turn it off/off.
- RFP’s – you’ve dabbled in these in your career. Understanding how they get brought to life (by the customers), and how they get wrapped/responded to.
- Previous experience working closely with Partners/Agencies is important. They may see things one way, and you may see things in a different light – understanding when to push back and when to stand back.
- Deadlines.
This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground level and continue helping build out the company – we got dreams, you got ideas – making these reality will ensure Skio and you are successful
