We are looking for an experienced, articulate, and energetic education technologist to become a K12 Solutions Engineer (SE). Solutions Engineers provide support to sales that lead to closing new deals and driving revenue. They work directly with Account Executives to explain how our solutions support best practices in school districts.  

Solutions Engineers are the primary knowledge resource for all things workflow, technology and education as they relate to SchooLinks’ product offerings. SE's are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. K12 SE's are the key instructional and technical advisors and product advocates, thoughtfully considering all alternatives to arrive at best recommendations.

This is a work from home/remote position.  However, candidates must be willing to travel up to 50%.  

What you will be doing:

There are four major pillars to this position 

  1. Be the demo expert: Be the expert of our product and come up with workflow solutions and articulate complex concepts in simple and compelling ways to the prospects 
  2. Professional development: Assisting in sales rep professional development via documentation, and making of the materials, pitch coaching 
  3. Be the domain expert: Keep up-to-date on any legislative and policy changes in the space we serve, counseling, WBL, CCR accountability 
  4. Product Liaison: Provide feedback from the front lines to our product teams in a way that allows our teams to improve our products and services 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Position the SchooLinks platform as a solution (and as a partner) to all stakeholders, from shallow to deep, from storytelling, to technical deep-dives
  • Develop, refine, and deliver tailored product demonstrations that are thoughtful, simple, but engaging
  • Effectively communicate complex technology, workflows and implementations to a variety of stakeholders – e.g. telling a compelling story to educators and administrators, as well as leading credible, in-depth technical discussions with information technology experts
  • Act as a trusted strategic and technical advisor with our prospective customers, thoughtfully considering customer vision and needs to design the best solutions with detailed workflow considerations and change management best practices to drive urgency for adoption
  • Work with our Writers to respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
  • Coach and mentor fellow team members on all things counseling and CTE workflows and legislative changes related to CCR accountability across states
  • Track progress on projects through consistent record-keeping and documentation
  • Share knowledge and facilitate the enablement to ensure we are upskilling our Account Executives to be able to articulate and solution sell our products 

Requirements
  • Prefered education experience, preferably in leadership at a school, district, or state level
  • A strong understanding of instructional best practices and of digital tools that support best practices. 
  • Technical understanding of education technology prefered, web technology, mobile technology, systems integration, SaaS, student information systems, APIs, etc.  
  • Articulate and dynamic presentation skills with the ability to present to a wide range of stakeholders, both virtually and in-person in casual and high stakes scenarios 
  • Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
  • Self-motivated, self-reliant, collaborative, and communicative
  • Thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be prepared for extensive travel (up to 50% at peak periods)

A reasonable estimate of the on track earnings range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; specific geographic location; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
