Position Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for recruiting, leading, and developing sales team in a geographic territory and ensuring financial goals of the organization are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership

    • Directly leads Independent and Direct Sales Reps on the team.  Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    • Recruit, train and motivate sales and estimating team in highly effective manner to support the company's sales and marketing objectives by maintaining an effective sales organization, developing, implementing, and achieving the sales plans for the region.

    • Coach, mentor, and develop an effective and efficient sales team to improve their effectiveness to meet the overall sales objectives. Manage Sales Reps in the territory including setting expectations, measuring sales activities and assessing results. 

  • Strategic Program and Project Management 

    • Participate in or lead process improvement initiatives.

    • Manage business development activities for the region including identifying prospective customers, influencers, representatives and sales channels for sales leads. Develop and implement plans to improve market share, positioning, and increase sales and profitability for the region.

    • Drive sales development process to identify ideal customers and projects and maximize use of resources and prioritize opportunities that value our premium brand and products.

    • Lead regional efforts to identify and onboard strong distribution partners to service smaller customer opportunities

  • Sales

    • Communicate customer’s "voice" within the organization. Provide market input to processes ranging from Estimating to delivery of products, serving as primary liaison with internal partners including Estimating, Marketing and Engineering teams. 

    • Actively call on key accounts and assist Sales Reps as appropriate.

    • Assist Sales Director as required.

    • Understand, utilize and ensure sales representation adherence on use of Salesforce for project, customer and opportunity tracking per company expectations.

Experience & Skills

Education:

  • BA in Marketing, Business Management/Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the commercial fenestration industry with solid technical understanding of storefront and curtainwall and window systems and applications or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of sales management experience, or related management experience.

  • Minimum 3 years background in architectural promotion and training, preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Basic understanding of construction documents, details, sketches and design technical manuals. Prefer CDT accreditation with the Construction Specifications Institute.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with demonstrated superior client orientation.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Strong people skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance

  • Valid driver’s license, without restrictions, to meet extensive travel requirements.

  • Ability and willingness to lead and develop others.   

  • Highly motivated and able to attain results in previous positions.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Consensus builder- able to build relationships at many levels throughout the organization and within our markets.

  • Undertake job responsibilities in a manner consistent with the highest integrity and ethical practices.

Work Environment/Travel Requirements

  • Extended periods of office work on a computer and in team meetings.

  • Overnight travel requirements will be expected 50%-75% of time, plus 3-4 additional times per year for team meetings, training, etc.

  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in an office environment.

  • May lift general office supplies up to 10 pounds from table height and carry up to 50 feet.

  • At jobsites or mock ups may have to lift up to 75 pounds.
