We are currently looking for a dynamic, energetic, and innovative individual to join our team as an Application Engineer (AE). This customer-facing role involves presenting solutions, demonstrating software, solving complex problems, and developing creative solutions and flows to meet our customers' most challenging physical verification needs using Cadence technology.

In this role, you will be the technical expert on Cadence tools and a valued consultant on design and implementation issues. You will work closely with customers to understand their design challenges, recommend solutions, and drive customer success. Additionally, you will collaborate with our R&D, Product Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure the successful deployment of our solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Understanding customer physical implementation and signoff flows.

- Guiding customer design teams on methodology and flows to enhance productivity.

- Resolving critical tool issues impacting project timelines, often working with product development and peer AEs.

- Conducting technical presentations, training, and product demonstrations, including developing customized presentations as needed.

- Supporting technical evaluations and benchmarks, driving the process to deliver Cadence solutions.

- Developing an understanding of customer needs and their existing methodology to create the best solutions for our customers.

- Providing technical support for PVS, Pegasus, Quantus and related technologies.

- Contributing to technical and sales meetings, interacting with engineers, technical leads, and executives.

- Conducting root cause analysis and providing resolutions to customer technical issues.

- Developing and running test cases to verify problems, create workarounds, file JIRA’s, and deliver R&D fixes to customers.

- Authoring application notes and providing feedback on documentation.

- Leveraging TCL, Perl, UNIX, and Python for flow development, automation, and design methodology improvements.

- Engaging with the AE team on pre-sales and post-sales technical campaigns, working alongside Sales and Marketing to plan deployment, conduct technical evaluations, and provide support.

Ideal candidate should have:

  • Strong ability to solve electrical and electronic circuits.

  • Excellent knowledge on how power, IR, and EM analyses impact chip planning to IR/EM sign-off.

  • Fundamental understanding of interconnect modeling, package analysis, and die modeling.

  • Ability to write and debug automation code in Python or Tcl.

  • Solid grasp on foundational algorithms to solve numerical and graph problems.

  • Basic idea on how EDA and Semiconductor industry eco-system works.

  • Alacrity to be an excellent team player.

The annual salary range for San Jose, CA is $ 84,000 to $156,000. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
