Primary Duties
1. Create, monitor, manage, troubleshoot and patch application landscapes and transport code changes between landscapes in order to provide support of various applications. Reviews growth and performance of landscapes to avoid outages or degradation of service levels.
2. Utilizes advanced administration and troubleshooting techniques to complete complex assignments or to solve difficult problems.
3. Mentors, coaches and supports other IT staff to improve technical abilities; and assist in completion of challenging assignments. Explores ways for automation to reduce the human-error factor and to achieve process standardization.
4. Keeps abreast of the latest technologies, and enhancements. Understands and communicates the relevance and application in the workplace. Researches and implements enhancements and new technologies as required.
5. Simultaneously assigned to multiple projects. Coordinates tasks with other project team members as appropriate.
6. Defines and implements standards for implementation and administration of applications, and compliance with SOX requirements.
7. Provides risk assessments regarding development and maintenance of Information Technology security functions that protect information availability and integrity.
8. Plans and designs control functions to maintain segregation of duties for SOX controls.
9. Reviews landscapes and makes recommendations for changes, to ensure efficiency and integrity of information.
10. Creates documentation to support the maintenance, change and recoverability of information.
11. Evaluates and tests the integrity and recoverability of application and data by reviewing and testing proper back-up and recovery procedures.
12. Earns and maintains certification in related application administration areas.
13. Acquires and maintains deep knowledge of the cloud architecture which includes knowledge of the impact of database and application design and architecture decisions and how they affect organization’s operating costs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS
Educational/Experience Level:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology or a related field and 4 years of experience in supporting Java based applications, JBoss, Tomcat, IBM MQ Broker, Job scheduling tool, Single sign on tool, monitoring tools, Unix shell scripting and writing SQL (SQL Server and Oracle).
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate politely, clearly and effectively with internal and/or external customers at a high level such as senior management on matters of a technical and/or complex nature.
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods
Computer Skills:
Requires working knowledge of various software applications to create documents, reports and/or graphics and support databases.
Work Conditions:
Works in an office environment. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
