Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) to support scalable, secure, and highly available platforms.
  • Architect and operate multi-region AWS environments, ensuring resiliency, fault tolerance, and business continuity.
  • Manage and optimize core AWS services including EKS, ECS, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, Route 53, VPC, and IAM.
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab, and Jenkins to enable efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Develop automation solutions using Python, Bash, and PowerShell to streamline infrastructure provisioning, deployments, testing, and operational processes.
  • Build, administer, and enhance Kubernetes platforms on Amazon EKS, including Helm charts, ingress controllers, service mesh, and container security controls.
  • Implement enterprise-grade observability and reliability practices utilizing Datadog, CloudWatch, logging, tracing, monitoring, and alerting solutions to improve operational excellence.
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis efforts while collaborating with engineering teams to improve platform resiliency, security, performance, and operational maturity.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five to six years of relevant experience

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in AWS cloud services, including compute, networking, storage, security, container, and serverless technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating Kubernetes environments, including Amazon EKS, Helm, service mesh, container security, and cluster optimization.
  • Advanced experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux administration, automation, and scripting using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including Tenable, BlackDuck/Fortify, SonarQube, IAM, secrets management, certificate automation, and cloud security controls.
  • Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Datadog, CloudWatch, logging, tracing, and alerting frameworks, with the ability to support compliance requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA/HITRUST, or similar regulatory standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • Experience supporting banking, payments, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience with Datadog, Venafi, cloud security platforms, and enterprise observability solutions.
  • Background in platform modernization, cloud migration, and large-scale infrastructure transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted engineering, automation tooling, and developer productivity platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, influence architecture decisions, and drive operational excellence initiatives.

Location expectations 
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $111,605.00 - $131,300.00
