Summary:

The Sr. Director, Product Marketing will lead the Product Marketing organization, and be the strategic voice that translates the value of our multiple products into compelling market narratives, go‑to‑market (GTM) strategies, and measurable growth. You will partner with product, engineering, sales, and the broader Marketing team to ensure our AI‑enhanced solutions, Knowledge as a Service model, and developer‑centric value propositions resonate with our Stack Overflow Business target audiences.

What you’ll do:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Define the vision, mission, strategy, and roadmap for Product Marketing across Stack Overflow Business, Stack Overflow community products, and our Public Platforms
    • Align marketing priorities with the company’s annual and quarterly goals for each product and line of business
    • Understand, assess, and appropriately prioritize the needs of business stakeholders to ensure that quarterly goals are achieved
  • Messaging & Storytelling
    • Own the unified product narrative— from executive briefings and sales collateral to website copy, webinars, and developer‑focused content.
    • Ensure messaging reflects our AI‑enabled, data‑centric value proposition and the needs of developer and technical audiences.
  • Cross‑Functional GTM and Growth
    • Build and own the GTM playbook for new products, features, and AI‑driven offerings; evangelize it with Product, Engineering, and the executive team.
    • Partner with Sales leadership to operationalize sales playbooks, refine pitches, and drive velocity through the enterprise funnel
    • Collaborate with public platform product teams on strategies for driving product-led growth through additional user acquisition and increase engagement
    • Collaborate with our Public Platform community team to introduce new products to our community, foster additional user acquisition and engagement
  • Market & Competitive Insight
    • Commission and synthesize market research, pricing, and packaging studies to inform product roadmaps and positioning.
    • Institutionalize regular persona, competitor, and vertical analyses; disseminate insights to PMs, Sales, and Marketing
  • Team Building & Enablement
    • Mentor and lead a high‑performing team of Product Marketing Managers with deep expertise in SaaS, advertising, and recruiting.
    • Create enablement programs (training, battle cards, competitive win/loss analysis) that empower the sales force and customer‑success teams.
  • Collaboration with Content & Demand
    • Co‑design integrated campaigns with demand generation that drive prospects through every stage of the funnel, whether in the enterprise or on our public platform
    • Support the research, development and execution of our annual Developers’ Survey

What you’ll need to have:

  • Experience leading a product marketing function in an enterprise Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) organization, ideally with a product created for use by developers
  • Familiarity with the SaaS knowledge sharing and collaboration software space and its evolution in the age of AI
  • Familiarity with advertising and recruiting products is a plus
  • The ability to move quickly, be agile and foster a continuously improving and learning environment for messaging for all market-facing product, marketing and sales stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with sales enablement to develop market-facing assets for sales
  • Experience in industry research, pricing and packaging, qualitative and quantitative research methodologies  
  • Excellent written communication skills and a passion for product storytelling
  • Excellent executive presentation and communication skills
  • Experience managing, coaching, empowering and evaluating the performance of individual contributors
  • Ability to manage expectations and align priorities with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • 4-year degree or equivalent work experience #LI-KS1 #LI-remote

The base salary for this role is $220k - 245k (for the right person/experience) + annual bonus and stock options
