This role is to be based near one of our offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Oakland or Austin.

About the Senior Director, Tracking & Measurement role:

We are seeking a Senior Director to join our Tracking & Measurement practice. In this role, you will combine analytical depth with creative problem-solving to help Fortune 500 clients make confident, future-focused decisions that drive measurable growth.

As a senior leader on our team, you will partner across accounts and practices and sectors to deliver unified, intelligence-led strategies. You will bring structure to complex challenges and clarity to cross-functional teams while shaping narratives, frameworks, and roadmaps that unlock new sources of growth.

As a Senior Director, Tracking & Measurement, you will:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead multiple high-stakes client engagements simultaneously, acting as a trusted thought partner from C-suite to emerging leaders
  • Frame complex business challenges and transform them into actionable growth plans powered by data, foresight, and creativity across multiple sectors.
  • Develop account vision and strategy at the highest levels, driving execution in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Actively participate in business development, pitching and winning new business through strategy-led and analytics-enabled solutions

Insights & Analysis

  • Synthesize diverse data sources from research and analytics to foresight and behavioral science into compelling narratives and growth roadmaps
  • Partner with Market Intelligence, Analytics, and Channel Strategy teams to link insights to performance metrics and strategic recommendations
  • Connect customer, culture, and category signals to surface new opportunities and drive measurable business impact

Client Excellence

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client partners, influencing decision-making through clarity, confidence, and commercial acumen
  • Lead client presentations and facilitate collaborative workshops that inspire alignment and drive action
  • Deliver consistent best-in-class experiences through clear communication, responsive service, and outcome-focused engagement
  • Foster meaningful organic growth through ongoing relationships and repeat business

Team Development

  • Mentor and coach Associates through Directors, creating development roadmaps and fostering an inspiring, growth-oriented environment
  • Strengthen strategic thinking and delivery excellence across the team through training, feedback, and hands-on collaboration
  • Lead problem-solving efforts with anticipation of roadblocks, providing guidance and creating opportunities for team initiative
  • Contribute to the development of new Material products and standardized methodologies

Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of professional experience in strategy, insights, research, or analytics, with a proven track record in both B2B and B2C contexts
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-method research and strategy engagements from design through delivery
  • Expertise in synthesizing large data sets across inputs from quantitative, qualitative and cultural data sources into clear narratives and growth roadmaps.
  • Strong business acumen with experience partnering across brand strategy, product design, digital analytics, media, social, loyalty, and CRM
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation skills
  • Proven leadership in managing and developing teams, with a track record of mentoring talent to excellence
  • Experience in business development, pitching, and winning new client relationships
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with ideas for account growth and innovative approaches to challenging problems
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Pay Range: $120,000.00 – $155,000.00

The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Material. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
