Join the team revolutionizing AI computing at Tenstorrent. You will work on simulation and hardware modeling, building and validating our open-source, high-performance, bit-accurate C++-based hardware simulator that enables developers to run AI workloads on existing and future Tenstorrent hardware. This is a unique role that sits at the forefront of Tenstorrent’s future generations of AI hardware, helping to build, shape, and define state-of-the-art accelerator architectures!

This role is hybrid, and is based out of Austin, TX.

Who You Are

  • A passionate software engineer eager to work on simulator technologies and the challenges of AI hardware, whether from compilers, systems, or broader software backgrounds.
  • Fluent in C++ and Python, with experience building complex systems that bridge the gap between software and low-level hardware details.
  • Excited by C++ optimization and low-level system software programming.
  • A collaborative problem-solver who thrives in open-source and enjoys working closely with hardware and software engineers.

What We Need

  • A drive to solve novel challenges in hardware simulation, from implementing and defining hardware specifications to optimizing C++ code.
  • Experience or strong interest in computer architecture and system software.
  • Motivation to build technology that impacts the future of AI, knowing your work will enable the next wave of breakthroughs.

What You Will Learn

  • How to build and validate open-source simulators supporting RISC-V and diverse AI Accelerator architectures.
  • Deep expertise in computer architecture, system software, ISA specifications, and floating point arithmetic.
  • How to develop highly optimized C++ code.
  • How compiler technology powers Tenstorrent’s mission to deliver affordable, open-source AI computing in a highly competitive space.

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
