As the Sr. Engineering Manager, you will lead, manage, mentor, and build exceptional software engineering teams to deliver game-changing technologies. The Sr. Engineering Manager must be able to attract and recruit the industry’s best talent, and simultaneously have the technical chops to ensure that we build compelling, customer- focused solutions with an iterative methodology. This role will contribute to developing the careers of the software development team and ensure they are continually focused, challenged, and learning.
What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented software engineers, promoting a culture of rapid innovation, continuous improvement, and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with Product Management on the roadmap, ensuring that the timelines proposed are realistic based on the likely technical approach to executing the underlying requirements.
- Be the vocal champion for the engineering team in proposing candidates for inclusion on the product and technology roadmap. Ensure that risks associated with tech debt are clearly communicated to stakeholders outside of the engineering team.
- Oversee the software engineering function for all software properties and customer-facing assets, including managing the software engineering sprint cycles.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented software engineers, promoting a culture of rapid innovation, continuous improvement, and efficiency.
- Act as a scrum master for pods and help unblock engineers as needed. This includes initial planning and design through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality solutions that meet scope and budget requirements, while actively identifying and addressing technical risks and dependencies.
- Identify potential risks in software design and implementation and establish mitigation strategies.
- Drive the implementation of robust security and privacy measures within mobile apps, ensuring the protection of customer data and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development discussions with reports.
- Drive talent acquisition, including recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new engineers
- Address performance issues proactively and provide constructive feedback.
What you need to be successful
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering is a must, and at least 4 years in an engineering leadership role is required.
- Expert knowledge of Cloud Software Development and concepts.
- Experience in iOS/Android app development using the latest frameworks.
- Experience with FullStack apps, DevOps, and database technologies, patterns, and architectures.
- Deep empathy for our internal and external customers with a demonstrated record of delivering high-quality software in a timely manner.
- Ambitious and resourceful; results-oriented; highly innovative. Focused on business value creation through innovation.
- Highly analytical, data-driven mindset; holds self and others accountable with measurable ROI-oriented KPIs.
